Why DO we want clan wars so much?

Clan wars, randomly selects 3 other clans of similar strength pitted against each in a race to the highest trophies won in multiplayer battles in a 24 hour period.

This whould be really cool because it would make people fight for trophies and the winners could get some cool awards

As for some of the negative opinions about Clan Wars in this thread, I disagree. Clan Wars would bring a wealth of benefits for the game, namely in clan participation and unity. The social side to the game can GREATLY be improved from what it currently is, and in my opinion, this part of the game is why so many people stay and play long term. Clan Wars is one of the more significant ideas that could improve the social game if it is done right and correctly, which I definitely think it can.

I'm against Clan Wars... The game that employs them (whose title I will not mention) is completely consumed by them. If someone clicks "war" all of a sudden there's a ton of pressure to stay online for hours, to gain war medals.

Hate that. I don't want to be peer-pressured to play a game when I may not want to (or be available to).

Please Supercell - don't ruin this game with Clan Wars.

to show my clan better than others? hahhaha.... wth... I don't care of others clan. I only care my clan and interaction between members in clan. Socialize and unity. no choice of that.

Here are my thoughts on possible clan war implementations:

1) Reward system - up to SC to decide. So no point trying to convince others by saying top 50 get 2,000 gems each.

2) Is it a glorified cup push? If i can achieve the same by trophy pushing and compare my clan score with other clans, i don't see the need for it.

3) Do we get to choose who we wanna attack? If yes, bad idea. Matchmaking should be random.

4) Do we lose resources in clan wars? If yes, it opens up to resource transferring. If no, it's a waste of time.

5) if u combine (3) and (4) into random matchmaking with resource losses, hey isn't that just like what we have now?

6) Clan village. Just no.

7) Real time attack and defend. You know, that idea where the attacker deploy troops to attack and the defender deploys troop to defend at the same time? Yea.... Um no.

So when u filter out everything, you will have a clan declare war, random clan pops up, can accept or reject, both clan race for war points which is awarded based on wins, forget about attacking exclusively players from the opponent clan because it allows transfer of resources. Bottom line, glorified cup push.

suddenly I think of something after read this post. How about clan league? Hmmm... higher clan league will provide some feature for clan troops or training time or higher league bonus or etc for clan members.

Here's an idea, if you don't want to, you don't have to. Just find yourself a clan that full of clan war haters like yourself and enjoy the game like how you always do. Or in the worst scenario, just be a lone happy wolf.

Can't blame him for not wanting SC to waste their resources on something he won't enjoy.

It's like SC spending their time to work on a mini game of minesweeper as part of Clash. You can choose not to play it, but i'm sure you'd prefer they actually spend time on some updates that u'll enjoy.

If that's the case, you're simply being selfish. Everyone fully knows how clan war has always been one of the most (if not the most) wanted feature since ages.

Spending time on something that can actually improve the game in term of important content is million times better than lazying around, adding new troops level, new defense level, new townhall here and there.

SC will waste resource on something he won't enjoy, sure, but the game doesn't revolve around him, does it? To him (and you), it can be a waste, to many others, it's a well spent effort, and will obviously be appreciated.

If you guys are wanting clan wars SO much then that's going to rush Supercell. If they are rushed they could possibly mess up the clan wars and most people would hate it. I'm not saying they're bad at making features like that. I'm just saying if they are rushed then they could get so frustrated and make a clan wars that not many people like because they were rushed. Now I'm not saying that WOULD happen but it's a possibility.
