Try organizing a cup push, and call it clan wars.

Challenge any clan you know for clan score.

If that doesn't hype them up, neither will clan wars.

So Clash of Clans can fulfil its naming rights.

Think of it in terms of any PvP game - there will need to be a new way to record progress lets call it "honour", each time you successfully attack someone and destroy their base you get honour. Together with loot, honour is attributed to each player, the total amount of honour per player is tallied up and a clan total is given - however there is no randomness about this - a clan declares war on another - each member of their clan attacks each other thereby stealing its honour etc

Loot in storages is uncapped. TH is capped to TH10 - so once a player maxes their base thats it. From here, heroes need to be uncapped so that those players who work out their heroes, buy power ups and various add-ons for their heroes can boast about defeating their opponents and also boast about their loot stolen!

In this way, loot is distributed laterally amongst those active (not vertically as in the present system) - not based on cups - there is no limit to getting loot because right now in the present system I can't attack anyone on the leaderboards in the top 200 - they are safe from players not in their zone. But a system which isn't focused on cups but is focused on attacks and losses - means its a fair system that benefits those who are active and want the battles - and its not based on SC artificially restraining blooming loot with each maintenance - up the anti by allowing heroes to be lost from repeated attacks and now you have people needing to buy shields to protect their heroes - this is supposed to be about clashing - let us choose who we attack!

There is no matchmaking system - chuck that in the bin, no gold is loss from endless nexting - just the ability to click on a persons name in clan and if they don't have a shield its game on!

If you can't handle that - go play HayDay.

Its time to man up and bring the clash on!

    EDIT:
Cups are the problem - they protect those at the top causing this divide amongst players - loot evaporates vertically ending up in top cup players bases and then evaporating from the game since no one can attack them and there is no way to bring same loot vertically down - remove cups!

2nd EDIT: Ok so its not an idea thats been fully and rationally examined, but you get the gist of what I envision clan wars to be - it should be exciting, loots should be unknown so when you go to attack someone you won't know the total loot you have until the battle is over (exciting yes!) also battles should be based on skill of placement of troops and not just metrics of base strength - AI should be improved because as heroes become stronger, they lead better and so troops ai behave better and now you see how exciting clash could be as the outcome is unpredictable - same TH level VS same troop level but someone may have a buff hero thats say wearing an amulet which gives berserker type strength etc. People will buy shields and power-ups and even experience for their heroes!

That's true. Clan wars would be a waste of time in a sense, but still a nice feature, IF it was voluntary, and did not affect current clan systems. Otherwise, I would think of it as a no go.

It needs to be a system that adds gameplay without changing the core of the current system. Something that is fun. And yes, that would be the point - fun. So even if it ended up being a "glorified cup push" (and I don't think it will be if done properly) I want it.

Here's my idea for a clan tournament (a real tournament) that I would enjoy:

--Hate to bring up another game, it rhymes with Ball of Buty, but anyways, in their version of clan wars you capture certain "zones", and there's maybe 6-7 of them. Its neat because you have to get your clan coordinated so you aren't all spread out going for random zones.

Just a cool concept, and to conquer the zones you obviously have to get points, but that doesn't necessarily mean gaining trophies. Could be anything from winning the most battles/defenses to looting the most gold/elixir.

I dont know, maybe it could incorporate some single player base building like you're looking for along with nice team play.

I manage a clan, we have a town hall and every day for 2 hours the leader listens to the clan residents an helps them. Several times a day our clan attacks other clans, we take circular gold discs and some liquid stuffs of purple and black. I am Clan Wars and so can you!

Personally, I like that we're able to make our own tournaments, contests, etc. I think it adds a lot to the game. Granted, it takes organization outside of the game to make them work, but I think that's a benefit, too. Building clan wars into the game would make it easier, perhaps... those who aren't inclined to organize, host, or participate in an event via the forum would have a way to approximate the same experience in-game. If clan wars were implemented, though, I'd still likely create and participate in forum events. They're unique, creative, and very social. Some of the best times I've had playing this game have been during forum comps. They've also significantly expanded my circle of friends. I think the fact that they're created outside the game makes them more engaging, fun, and personalized in a way that in-game clan wars would be hard pressed to duplicate. Definitely wouldn't want to see that changed.

    My 2 cents.

PS: For what it's worth, it also doesn't bother me in the slightest that the name of the game doesn't exactly match the function of the game.

    Cheers!

    Lol yeah, bring it!

It's a real shame that XP is given for donations. If a player's XP was purely on how advanced their base was then that could have a purpose and actually be used in a useful way, ie: matchmaking of equal bases for wars.

If you could repeatedly attack someone before setting off their auto shield would you:

    • Take out the heroes and clan castle troops first
    • on the second run target their loot
    • on the third run try to 2-3 star them!
    • or just raid their collectors over and over - you know - really farm them!

Personally, I don't think we need cups. They strangle this game!
