Actually, they donated 5000 gems. 500 was the number of US dollars that was the original fundraising goal. It's since been raised to $1000, due to the fundraiser's success.

And for what it's worth, here's what I think about your OP: You may have a good idea (tournaments for players not in the top clans), but the way you make your case is off-putting. You assume an awful lot about things you can't possibly know, for example:

...which isn't gonna cost more money to develop or upgrade than it costed valve to develop a pc game.

...they are too greedy for that.

...you people have enough money to burn...

Supercell is ignoring not only the masses, but even top players.

When you add outright conjecture and name-calling to an otherwise supportable premise, it is immediately weakened.

Just my 2 cents.

Even 5000 gems is .. not so great why? because it was a fundraiser.

OP you have a great idea. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Having little in game insentives is not a bad idea. Why not award a few gems to the person who finishes first in there league at the end of the season? That's not a bad idea. It gives people of all levels something to fight for. But I do agree with others too. SC is a business and they are running this game like a business. They don't have to do anything we want them to, but something small should be added just to keep more people interested. This game is built for SC to make money. So adding a small little gem bonus to the person who comes first in a league wouldn't hurt them

Oh no- sorry my iPad died! I wasn't referring to you, other games were mentioned in posts that were whisked away into nothingness.

Your ideas are good, but so are some of the points why they may not be implemented by SC. I do know that SC discusses ideas like this though, but it's frustrating to wait for any game changes additions.

I am enough busy farming walls. but for times, like now, i am out of walls since 7 days and th 8 needs 1 more day. maxed king too. some side quest or tournament or, something won't hurt.
It doesn't only take a bored individual or a group to ask for additions.

the reason i brought up this rant is because i am worried about some good old clanmates quitting because they are tired of routine.

Good old clan mates? As in 5 weeks old? Try being patient and enjoy the game while it is still enjoyable. You think it's bad now this game may not be for you. Once you've been grinding for 1.5 years and endure the toil of 8mill / 14 day upgrades at th10 you'll definitely have a reason to want the "routine" broken up.
