Just to add to this thread. For those of you that think Hogs are overpowered.
- Hogs have been nerfed several times already, it's the the point where it's getting ridiculous. 2 HP reductions, and 2 updates that directly reduced their effectiveness (bombs & traps, Infernos Anti-heal).
- You can design a base to counter hogs. If you're consistently being smashed by hogs 100% by even novice users, there's something wrong with the design of your base. It's the same with any troop though, you need to counter it! ie; Balloons & Minions, Giant & healer = Well placed Air Defense with Air bombs and Air Seeking Bombs

Hog Riders suck. They barely get 20% on my base. They may be overpowered for TH9 and below, however.
A problem with making an anti hog base is that it rarely works against much other things. So you're protecting against one thing and then having your base a lot weaker to others. If you're saying that the hog villages work great against others too then how come before the hog update almost no-one had a base that looked anti-hog. Th10 with multi infernos take them down easily but for th9 its make a base a lot weaker to any other strategy and still sometimes lose badly or get 100%. In an old clan the leader (hogs in same state) would beat th9s around crystal 1, some maxed and would be posting replays of him getting 100% every half hour (or close). Th10 can easily prey on th9 with hogs and th9 cant do the same back.
On how to nerf them before they have hogs the ability to target defences they buffed them a lot. Why not take away those buffs? Or they could give th8 (they have no new defence and are very vulnerable to lv6 troops) a way to beat hogs like a very bulky defence or a something that eliminates a certain kind of spell (or any other idea).
I have every TH9 defensive building upgraded. I'm upgrading some bombs and working on more level 9 walls.
I'm running one of the spike and moat bases designed to stop hogs with my TH inside hanging around in C1/C2. The moat is filled with loot and the center compartment is Xbows, mortars, CC, TH. With every maxed TH9 defense online and my CC (15 L5 minions), BK (10), AQ (13) I'm holding up okish. 8 out of my last 10 defenses were hogs despite my base being built to be annoying for them. If they don't pull the CC/heroes, I do ok. If they do they almost always wipe pretty much all the defenses around the edge of my base out. A lot of it at that point comes down to what sort of cleanup troops they brought, how much they used pulling/killing CC & heroes, and what level of heroes they drop (if any).
I've lost a ton of Elixir but only 3 Gold stores in those 8 attacks. 2 were from one attack where I was 80%ed the hogs actually got my entire outer defenses and jumped to the core and took out an xbow. This left one side exposed and the Heroes were 15+.
The hogs still feel a bit too strong against TH9 and I'm assuming far, far worse below. My Giant Bombs were level 1 and I'm upgrading them. I have no doubt the double giant eliminates the threat but at a decent cost especially if they drop in two places and take out all 4 plus other traps.
Your stupid, Hogs have been nerfed enough, make an Anti Hog base if your getting 3 starred by them, end of discussion, mods please close this thread
