Need to Save your Private Messages? Instructions Here

Copied from a thread in Hay Day:

How to save/download your private messages.

    Go to your inbox
Select the messages you want to keep/download.
Scroll to bottom of inbox to the "selected messages" pulldown menu and you will see options to download via XML, CSV, TEXT. I usually just do text, as it is easier.

Got kinda worried snooks might be gf, but seems there's no gf in the set-up so she is absolutely confirmed.

I would use export to XML for sorting, filtering…. in a spreadsheet editor.

Here's a quick explanation of what I did, in case someone else has the same concern:

    1. From your Private Message folder, select messages and export them in XML format
Check the box of messages you want to keep (multiple selection through multiple pages is supported up to 500 messages). You can tinker with the URL to make it display 100 messages at once. >> Button Selected Messages >> Download as XML >> Proceed
Ther it goes, file is downloaded on your computer.
    2. Open Excel (Google Docs should work in their own way too) and import XML file as explained here:
      https://support.office.com/en-us/art...rs=en-US&ad=US.

I tried with CSV format but too difficult to extract data properly. Text is another option but doesn't support sorting or filtering. I keep a text file format for easy reading.

The content of PM is stored as the text in Source Mode. If BBCODE is difficult to interpret for you, paste that code in a draft PM on forum and choose Preview message.

Not sure why thread is closed, can’t quote post from a closed thread.

Learn Python made me LOL. I know Python but not sure how many people can be bothered to learn it. I wouldn't blame them if not. I can't even be bothered to play my own valley and town in Hay Day.
