Indeed, I agree. It sucks when someone takes something. But you say that sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose - well that's just it, with zapping there's no way to lose, it's just dropping spells on someones storage and cashing in the DE in exchange for elixir. If they made zapping less profitable (I don't know, cut it in half by adding some of the numerous lightning conductor protection devices rolling around in the Ideas & Features subforum) I would not grumble. I know the basis of this game and I enjoy playing it, so don't patronize me.

Thanks for adding so much to the discussion.

    I zap on rare occasions.
However with Balloonions it's easy to farm DE anyhow, so I don't need to waste spells on zapping.

There is no thought in my mind, if zapping is unfair or unethical. If it serves my needs, I do it.
Second to my needs come those of my clanmates. Nothing else bothers me.

    COC is a cutthroat game.
There is still HayDay for players that cannot take it.

This could cause an end to zapping...

I take it you were joking with this last line after telling him not to patronize you.

I don't zap like a hipster but I mow your entire base down with my bacon/bam/balloonion army to make sure nothing remains in your DE tank

We all agree it's a cheap tactic so we agree not to do it. No one is being forced or told how to play. There's really little way to know if someone is zapping so in any situation it'd be hard to force someone to play the game a certain way.

(I realize you were just generally stating this, I'm just providing some clarity that many clans agree instead of forcing new members to conform to their standards)
If anybody from Unity ever zaps someone from Union, that I find out about, I'll be very happy to pm you their name and a screen shot. The way I see it this sort of players must be hounded out of all decent clans. Further, I vote we make a league between all forum clans to stick together on the zapping thing, any offender is black listed and barred from all forum clans, forever!

Everyone has their style of playing, some zap, others raid and take the whole thing. Both are justified. After all if someone zaps you, you can revenge the shiz outta them cant you?!

We all like to zap DE, because it's the easy way to get it and requires no skill or spine. However, most of us like to play the fair way and get resources using troops. Planning a battle and training troops is much more fun than dropping a few lightning spells to get a few hundred dark elixir.

When you look at statistics, you'll always get more DE by going in with ground troops than you will by zapping. Troops will completely destroy whereas a lightning spell only takes part of the damage, and thus the resources.

I've zapped before. Once or twice, but it's boring and cowardly. (This is coming from someone who has zapped, remember). I soon found myself disappointed and bored, because I missed the fun of a good fight.

    BOTTOM LINE:

Everyone likes to zap. It's an easy and assured way to get DE.

Most people like a good fight. Lots of people don't zap because it's cowardly and boring, as opposed to a good fight with actual troops. (For those of you who have become so obsessed with zapping that you've forgotten what troops are, you train them in the barracks and they take up space in your army camps. (I hope no one here has forgotten...))

I used to zap. I don't anymore. (Actually, if someone zaps me, I'll zap them back before deploying troops.)
Ditto bro ... I zapped my barb kind to lvl 5 (along with as many troop de raids as was feasible). Now that he is maxed, and all de is good for is dark troops, I've hung up Thor's hammer ... ok ... I lie ... I still brew nothing but lightening, but I use it to take out mortars for my barch attack. Still, I do not regret using the tactic to accomplish my almost single minded goal of getting my king to lvl5, and would do it again!

Spoken like someone who just cant stand to lose.

If there is a failure to see an addition to the discussion it's because you aren't listening.

.....thinking out loud...."well if they made the loot system less profitable I wouldn't complain about loss of loot" and, um,..."if they made hogs less powerful I woulnd't complain about losing battles to them" and oh yeah..."if they made the discos less powerful I wouldn't complain about not stealing what I thought I deserved from that TH10 base" and lets not forget..."If they made the boosts a little cheaper in gems by X amount I wouldn't complain"....
