    SC is probably changing upgrade times in the wrong way

    For example, let's have a look at hidden tesla's upgrade times:

    2h,5h,10h,18h,1d,2d,3d,5d,8d,14d,16d,17d,18d

    This upgrade curve looks weird, and is not smooth.

    They should have changed the curve to a smooth one.

    Yeah that must be a mistake. Glad you noticed! Call their customer service and correct them.

    How do you suggest they change it then? Remember that you need to account for the fact that each town hall's available upgrades still needs to be relatively balanced in terms of upgrade times relative to each other for each town hall. Also need to account for the fact that upgrade times at the highest and newest town halls still need to be long while lower town hall upgrade times need to be continuously adjusted as more town halls are released so that new players can still feel like/are able to catch up the max town hall within a certain time frame. I would love to see a detailed analysis of how they can adjust each individual upgrade time while considering these factors

    What is the definition of smooth upgrade curve, and why must it so?
    Care to give one example of smooth upgrade curve?

    Why?

    They have deliberately and consciously made it easier for lower Town Halls, while not making it as much easier once you get to the higher levels.

    What benefits would there be from having a "smooth curve"?

    Well the gap between 8d & 14d upgrade is too big. Having higher upgrade times is fine as they don't want players to be maxed in a month or so, but this 6d jump is pretty weird.

    If it's about the gap between 8d & 14d upgrade, which are Hidden Tesla level for TH level 11 and 12 respectively, it's coming from the cost reduction when a new TH level is introduced. The originally cost should be more smooth or less weird (if OP is talking about this).

    Seems like this had been the trend when new TH level is introduced, the last 3 TH level, currently which is TH12-TH14 remains almost the same, then for TH11 and below receive huge decrease in terms of upgrade cost and time.

    They have also been subject to a cost reduction before th13 came along which may be why the gap is now substantial in some. Air defense is also in the same boat.
    Am sure once mortars get an extra level that will be fairly large too.

    Then think how players might think (for those who don't look up in the wiki)

    They see level 9 takes 8d and level 10 takes 14d, then how long do they think future levels will take?
