How exactly do you discard boats. I get boats that i cant fill occasionally because i havent bought the item to make the product yet. I know for the truck orders you can click the trash can but how do you do it for the boat

Click the little boat symbol. Like you would do if sending off a full boat.

You have to do it before you fill any crates, though. Once you fill a crate, you have to wait until the clock runs down. Then the boat will leave on its own.

Don't fill any crates. Tap on the button at the bottom where you normally do to send a full boat away. You will have a choice to send it away empty. Make that selection and off it goes.

Hi 26DUDE, first of all you can only discard your boat if you haven't started filling it, once you fill just 1 crate you can no longer cast off until complete.
To cast an unwanted boat just tap on the boat sign( just as you do to send a full cargo off) . It will then ask you if you really want to cast it off, confirm yes & off it goes.

Tap the boat to view the crates. At the bottom right is a little button with a picture of the boat. Tap that, and you will get a confirmation screen that asks if you are sure you want to send the boat on unfilled.

However: you can only do this is you have not filled OR flagged any of the crates. Even if a crate is not filled, if its been flagged for help you cannot send the boat on. So make sure you intend to fill the whole boat before you flag any of the individual crates.

It's not dumb. Many haven't noticed the difference in the boat icon color when it's selectable and when it's not.
