should i sit on my shield - should collectors reflect this

I have been thinking about sitting on my shield. ie. if I have full stores should I want to be raided 100% and then rely on my collectors to refill my stores by the time I am next raided.

so I have done a spread sheet the emulate this. I am thinking that if they are thinking of a collecter buff then they should maybe bare this in mind.

also I notice on wiki that there is a percentage and max storage so for some the max amount will not be possible as they cant store it but my thread is mainly for th7 and up.

is it too easy to sit on your shield and wait for a builder to become free?

So your saying that you only raid once every 12-16 hours(im assuming you dont get 3 starred every time)? Normally a lot of ppl stay on do a few attacks gl back off and repeat later. I dont think this chart is realy what happens espically since most people dont get 16 hour shields

This is a valid strategy and becoming more valid due to the loot shortage.

its not meant to represent what actually happens. I think it represents that there maybe a handicap for anything above th7. you don't get any more collectors and you cant lvl up. you stay at a more handicapped stance than at th7.

I don't sit on my shield.i have full stores at 8 mill gold and I needed a shield. luckily I got sniped and now I have a shield to last until I have a builder free.

also, I don't sit on my shields unless my stores are full. I think I must aid around 20-30 times a day. obviously not winning all attacks(inactives don't get 1 starred).

it was mearly my observations after reading a few threads about a possible collector upgrade.

also I like to go away every other weekend and there is very little signal so I do have to rely on shields to keep my stores full.

maybe I should do another with a 12 hour shield?

I'm not completely clear what strategy OP is sugesting.

If it's the case that you have a builder free in say 15hrs and you'll get the gold from the collectors in time to start the upgrade, then on occaision, yes I have done this in the past, instead of raiding and risking loosing it.

In general, even with shocking loot, and pretty shocking raiding skills, raiding is a much more efficient way to get loot than just relying on your collectors.

I fairly sure a good farmer can always raid far more than he can earn while sitting on his shield. He need't even be active. Two consecutive avergage collectors raids will make more than a full day of riding out your shield.

Your making a rist assessment based on the maximum that is possible to be stolen from you. That is far from a certainty. Especially when you move up to TH9 and 10 where getting raided for 100% is very rare if you're in certain farming ranges.

Ok, if the point is to justify that TH 8,9 and 10 need more capacity from their collectors, then yes i can see that. Didn't get that from the OP.

sorry guys if I have not made myself very clear. it was just a pure observasion from me having full stores and not having a builder free fro some hours.

I knew the figures for maximum raids but not for collectors over 16 hours.
