Need advice - TH7 (to TH8 or not to TH8)

Hey Guys,

I would like to please get advice on following 2 points

1. My current base, should I stay with my current base or not (or use any other farming base that you may like to suggest). My base had been treating me well, but recently I got 3 starred by a TH8 which put me off, and now I am thinking of switching to some other base. Please check the below image. I put CC in center if both AD are up

2. I am not yet maxed out as you can see. Following are remaining
WT, M - maxed
AD - one going to max, other L3
AT - 2 max, 1 going to max and 1 L7
Canons - 2 max and remaining L7
troops almost max (except minions L2 and Hogs L1)
BK - L2
Walls - Max

The problem I am facing is that as I have maxed out my walls, there is nothing much that I can spend on and hence I have stopped farming. I am always full of gold, which attracts skilled attackers like you (who 3 star me). I am thinking to upgrade to TH8 and continue my upgrades and spend the extra gold on skull walls.

Please help and give advice

I encountered this problem before -- the full of gold and no more walls to upgrade -- except that I had defenses maxed except ADs (1 level below) and Teslas (both level 1). Also didn't max DE troops (level 1) and BK (level 1). It was frustrating. Yes, I jumped to TH8, while maxing the ADs and upgrading the Teslas (I have 5 builders).

In your case, I think it's essential to have splash damage towers maxed and since you have both WTs and mortars fully upgraded, I'd say go for it. You're just holding on to gold that's up for grabs while you have nothing to work on. Plus, getting those level 5 troops made it so much easier for me to "catch up". I still have TH7 point defenses (L3 Teslas, L8 cannons and ATs) but I have maxed my mortars and WTs, the latter being so hard because there are two new levels and one new WT.

Anyway, I vote yes, upgrade to TH8. Get those level 5 troops. While TH8 isn't the farming heaven TH7 is, I've been enjoying the challenge. And while maxing is important, you're not that far off anyway. Basically the disadvantages of staying outweigh the disadvantages of not being able to max.

What does it matter if you get 3 starred anyway? Is it cos they take all your loot which you're saying you don't need? That will be worse at 8 .

If your lab is idle then maybe you should go up but it was bad planning...... in fairness though you still have minions and hogs to do so no reason for it to be idle.

Your biggest prio now should be maxxing your collectors..... TH8 has loads of upgrades so going there with lots of TH7 upgrades left to do sucks.....

Same with the lab really, it sucks having to do th7 lab upgrades cos there it takes months and months to cap all of the lab upgrades available at 8.......

Max your barracks also.... it wins for overnight armies with 4 dragons complete ready to pop when the camps are emptied after that 1st attack.

Basically max the lot!!!!!

TH7 is the stage where it's so easy to farm and fill your storage. I say max out EVERYTHING in TH7 first before upgrading to TH8, including Mines and Collectors if you have the patience, as it gets difficult to farm and keep your resources as you go up. Imagine TH9's facerolling your base taking 275k/275k with ease every time.

I myself maxed out everything in TH7 before going to TH8, and was glad that I did it and never regret it.

I advanced TH8 very easy, it just takes 20 days to farm all those skull walls and I've upgrade to TH9 again with TH6 defence

i'm having this issue on my alt account. Just hang in there. Hide behind shields.

Upgrade to TH8. Also switch the central air defense with Clan Castle. Clan castle has the most DPS in defense.

I ever tried that base, not really effective, I changed it to Junliang's pokeball base and it's very effective
