Well, I have absolutely no idea how he only has 95 donations compared to his base

When you finish a building it gives you xp based on how long it took to upgrade.

It simple really, he dosent donate very often

Or he could have just recently decided to join a clan and had been playing without a clan before. His donated vs received doesn't look too bad now.

Well his base looks OK for a level 68...
You still get XP for completing buildings, removing obstacles, and destroying town halls.
