What does "three star specialist" mean?

I see this all the time in clan descriptions and recruitment threads:

    "Recruiting three star specialists."

At first i thought it was obvious, but then i got to thinking... Can i actually define it? what exactly is a three star specialist? Someone who goes for 3 every time? Someone who 3 stars every base every time? Someone who's practiced on the meta? Someone who's better than average?

Is there a such thing as a two star specialist, a one star specialist or a zero star specialist that these clans are trying to avoid?

I just really don't understand. Help me out with the meaning behind this overused and misunderstood (at least by me) phrase.

I wonder if it would be trolling to ask what it means every time i see it.

Personally, I put that phrase right next to everyone must maintain a positive donation ration. Impossible and meaningless. Maybe I'm a th3 3 star every other th3 specialist especially when I have max troops in my cc.

    Great question Puma.

When I see it, it doesnt even register anymore. I cant triple everything, I cant even triple most of the time. When I see that phrase I always wonder why anyone who actually is a three star specialist would join any clan that isnt in Champs1. Funny enough I have never seen a Champs 1 advert that says that is a requirement to join.

Maybe it is wishful thinking that these folks exist....kind of like unicorns.

I am a 3 star specialist in cwl..
It may take me 7 attempts, but I get my 3.

Agree that it is something that comes up when viewing clan descriptions..
Seems its designed to draw the attention of war players..
Thankfully, the reality with these specialist clans is that many of them are also only specialised in cwl too.

Good responses here thanks. If I'm anything i would say on normal war attacks I'm a two star specialist who occasionally gets 3 and 1. When I'm scouting though I'm definitely a zero star specialist heh.

Personally a lot of the clan descriptions have unrealistic expectations. I would be happy to get someone who might be a poor attacker but is willing to learn meta strats and atleast try to execute them and grow with the clan. Indeed if someone is a 3 star specialist, I doubt they are going to be hunting clans looking for such descriptions and then applying.

I think what they meant by 3 star specialist is the players who try to get 3 stars with a proper plan every attack instead of just being content with a 2 star every attack with lets say edrag spam.
They are trying to avoid players who always hit every base in war with the same army(normally spam) regardless of the layout to just go for 2 stars.

The funny part of the phrase "a positive donation ratio" is that you can just donate one goblin and you're set, since your ratio will now be a positive decimal.

Sincerely, I think that's not such a bad rate. Lately there have been several leagues (Champions 3) I failed to do that. I never one star either, but 3 stars aren't common

I think he jokingly meant that his CWL total will be at least 3 stars even it if takes all 7 attacks.
