No experience for donating certain items in neighborhood.

I don’t know if it’s a bug or what but when I donate screws to my neighbors I get no experience for it. Can someone please explain why? If this isn’t a bug then can someone please tell me what the point of giving it away is? I mean I’d rather just sell them at that point. Bolts too I’ve noticed don’t give any experience.

I've just tested this with 3 tape. The donating farm received 13 XP points (and no coins).

I was surprised to get anything. I must confess that I'd always assumed that a donation was just that; giving away something for nothing.

For me, the point of giving anything to my hoodies is simply to help them out.
