I see my tablets got a new FireOS update overnight, so, lets hope this fixes the underlying problem.

    ....nope. first fight...crash

Have you tryed to clear cache of your device?
Android devices can do this by getting into that boot menu thourgh pressing specific button while the tablet is off.
I dontbknow if that is possible on your amazon device.

    Same here.

Weird that its just so random. You can play for like 30 mins no problem then bam out of the blue. Did my cwl attack this morning and was on about 5 mins, and it just shut down 10 sec into cwl attack.

Your tablet hardware is probably obsolete. Before they ended support for iOS under 10, my iPad mini running 9 would crash so often, the most I'd do in-game was chat.

It's probably malware. You can't say it isn't if you don't have proof. Factory Reset, and download nothing but clash of clans. If it crashes still then it's not malware.
This doesn't mean it's your only option.

I have a fire HD8 2017 model and it works like a crisp. Crashing once a month but not a big deal. If OP has the latest model, then why does my older (and worse hardware) tablet work fine?

My last OS update was back in mid Feb. I have never crashed out of clash with this tablet until this cwl started.

My tablet just started this as well. It has happened in all sorts of random areas ... troop training, viewing CWL results, and one very frustrating CWL attack.
