As a completely maxed th8, with 2 days left before th9, gold/elix maxed, and de at 50k, what should I do? Currently just riding out shields, from the th10's/9's that keep smashing my base with little/no trouble.

try to max out the DE to 80,000. Doing that means you'll get a L2 AQ on day one, instead of a L1.
