Looks more like a light shade of purple, than a dark shade of pink.

It isn't a solid color, But it is a mixture of colors.
To answer your question it is pink-purple of different variables integrated.
After all it's magic. *poof*

Elixir seems pretty pink to me...

It depends on what device you view it on.

On my iPhone 5, the elixir and the level 6 Wiz Tower definitely looks pink; while on the iPad Mini with Retina Display - there is a reduced color gamut which causes the elixir and Wiz tower to appear more like light purple.

Look at google images and search "fushia" which is a pinky/purple colour

Well....in colorblind so it might as well be green.
