Raiding for resources and halfway through realized that you can't succeed so you that the exposed TH with your last minion. Usually followed by telling others that you are aiming for cups.

Pushing for Masters and failed to get one star one a base, but managed to get 200k/200k, followed by telling others that you are going for resources.

There was no satisfaction to be had, especially since my question was not answered.

His argument as to why it is the "right" way to play, it's because the entire Unity Alliance does it. So, being the curious clasher that i am, i just want to know whether he thinks that Unity Alliance dictates what's the right way to farm.

Because the way he phrased it certainly seems so.

It wasn't the point he was trying to make, he was never trying to boast or do anything of the sort. He simply used a Unity as an example, could have used any other farming clan. If he said Sky, would you have made your snide comment?

Because I highly doubt you would have said 'So...if Sky does it, that means it's "right"?'

Hypotheticals are not necessary as it proves nothing. However, since you bring it up, i'll say that my stand will be the same regardless of which clan was used as an example, and that stand is that there is no "right" way to play this game.

today I came across 3 dulls that put 3 and 4 teslas infront of their TH

for the first one, lots of traps and 3 teslas in front of the TH
- I killed the BK and AQ
- lured CC and killed the dragon inside
- detonated lot of bombs and spring traps... 3 giant bombs and an air bomb also detonated by few barb and few minions
- destroy the DE storage and take 500 DE...
- destroy a storage and take 120K
not valuable for me as I already have full gold... but that should be big loss for him because he's so poor... Lol

for the second one,
This man must be crazy, 4 high level teslas all guarding the TH outside
- I killed his BK and AQ
- destroy his DE collector that each have 350DE
- detonated few bombs, but only managed to find 1 giant bombs

for the third one
- I killed his BK, he have no AQ yet...
- lured cc, just have few archers
- take 175K gold and 150K elixir

if they don't put something like that, I will just take 1K and 10 trophy and just leave giving shield...

this is fun ..

There L4 (or are those L3 - I forget) big bombs @ every common entry,
& spring traps + maxed bombs line my funnels like a red carpet.

I have a trophy count of 2995
& yes, I am farming.

The pain of trying to maintain my trophy count @ M2-M1
far outweighs any benefit a cheap shield can give me.
When I do break my shield, I make enough in one session
to cover whatever loss I may have incurred.

Though, when I raid & I see a free TH, my common courtesy is to stop @ 1*
- if you protect it w/ teslas & traps, I go all the way in & take you for all you've got.

What's it like up there? Do you notice a change in player's bases? ie: Do more protect their bases and move storages to the outer line?

I'm around 2,700 and the bases seem impossible to crack. What I mean is, there is plenty of loot but ALL Infernos are set on Multi and surround the storages. Plus the storages are spread out so it's hard to focus an attack from one point. I guess the bases are setup for Hogs here.

Did you notice a change as you went higher? Any reason why you're that high? Better league bonus? What's your average win?

I've plenty more questions but just realised how many I've given you already.

For me, I have had great luck with doing #1-3. People come in for the snipe and then find taking my TH costs them so much due to traps and teslas they don't have troops left to go against the rest of the base. On the other side, when I attack completely unprotected TH it makes it easier for me to go after the rest of the base because I know I don't have to worry about losing any cups if the raid goes badly, i.e. <49%. I think you can be right about how protecting an exposed TH can take away from the rest of the base defense, but my experience has been that done properly you can protect your base and lure people into attacking your protected TH most of the time.

I absolutely agree with this post. If I can get the TH with minimal effort, I'm going to try for your storages next.

I miniballed up to about 3020-ish on the last day of the last tourney season
before 4 broken ribs forced me to stop. lol

I do notice that @ 3000-ish, the infernos start going on (at least one) single mode
& there starts to be a mixture of ground bows.
Which makes sense considering that one of the biggest threats up there is the GoWiWi.
/shakes fists @ people who can actually raid w/ that army well

Loot is not too bad. You start seeing more storages near the periphery.
And the best part is, even if you escape with only 100K,
as long as you win, you get a 100K bonus both ways.

I'd say that the lower leagues, or even M3 gives a better loot "return",
in the true essence of farming,
but my TH10 build times are waaaaay too long
& I found myself needing to give my builders a (green) helping hand every now & then.

Depends on the gameplay that you're interested in.

And besides, there comes a time in even the most hardcore farmer's heart
where he / she finds that collector raids are beginning to eat at his / her soul.



EDIT: Checking my battle log, my loot averages 100-300K.
Caveat is, I do sometimes spend 15-20 mins looking for a base, because I want to win.
(If winning does not matter, I am sure you'd find one faster.)
Also, because my lab is tied up in long upgrades
and I don't have a problem w/ elix, I blow spells very liberally.
(And oui, my factory never sleeps when I raid.)
