Sorry fir the delay in replying...been busy farming!

I always make sure they have feed...bowls never empty?

Im just letting them sleep all day long apparently! LOL. Not a bad life eh?

    Great advice!

But in response to your original post, definitely get pets! I got mine basically for the goodies. Hmm, it may be time for me to add a few more.
    Thanks Sue!

    Great advice!
Never even considered having empty slots/barn space...would have thought as with other tool gains, you can exceed your max.

    Obviously not.

The barn was full a lot recently, so this probably answers the original conundrum...why I wasn't getting any rewards!

    Appreciate all the comments...thank you!

Oh, and got my final 3 dogs and 1st 3 horses today. (Sorry cat lovers, but no mogs allowed at TheDonsta's Dell)

Now if it wasn't for the recent fishing event....vouchers would be more plentiful and I wouldn't have an empty stable next door!

    Affording pets?

It seems I levelled up too quickly and couldn't afford the machines hence I've not yet bought the mine. Is it true that this the best way to get the tokens to buy the pets? I've now got a cat and a dog but it's taken ages. I would like a horse next. I've never had any freebie tools when I've woken mine?

Have all pets and try to wake them as often as possible, once every hour for donkeys and every 6 hours for the rest. i plant a tomato nearby whenever they wake up so i'll know whens the next time they go to sleep. i get a fixed number of items - 3 for waking up the horses, 2 for dogs and 2 for cats, so 7 items in total.

A farm needs cats to eat mice in the barn and dogs to alert its owner when barnyard animals make an escape. I'm working my way to adopt more animals

I am currently 1 donkey short of the complete set, thanks to the fishing event which wiped my entire voucher collection out..!! I was lucky and managed to get all my original pets before the fishing even came into existence. Imho, I would recommend getting them all as soon as possible, purely because of all the freebies you get, lem's, bem's, sem's, axes, saws, and XP points.

re. The frequency of freebies, this was mooted many months ago, and it was mentioned that we got them every 200 XP points or so (I think) but we could never make the correct figures because of the circumstances of them being congregated. It never became an issue, because they are free after all, and anything for nothing in this game is a bonus. lol.

Thats exactly what happened to me Daisyloz...plus I just had no interest as didn't realise their potential.

Thanks to the contributors to this thread, I now know how to "operate" my pets to get the maximum rewards...(I was getting none too!)

Today was quite exciting, seeing the tools fly! Zip! Yipee!

Now if it wasn't for the blessed fishing event just gone by, Id ave an entire menagerie by now

Alas, I am 5 pinkies from my 4th horse!

Sorry Country7Girl...nothing will ever convince me...either you like em or you don't. I don't!
