Ahh, that's your angle. We will agree to disagree then, as I am talking about balance, you are speaking on benefit for going to TH10.

I just believe balance is most important. Not schemes to push players into certain upgrades, when chances are they will be stripped back in following updates. See hogs.

That is why I am in no hurry to go to TH10. If I was assured Infernos would not change it would be a different story, but we all know SuperCell do not work like that.

I'm used to the unfairness of the game, but I will always try to help improve the balance (if I can), because that makes a better game. Sitting there and happily eating anything SC throw at me is not the way I want to, and that's not how the community should be either.
Hahaha we agree about eating anything SC throws at us. I have my own personal thoughts on that.

Balance in my opinion doesn't belong in this context. It should only matter when attacking THs of the same level. Town halls of different levels should be unbalanced.

Looking at the number of TH10's I see now compared to how many there were prior to the change shows that the majority are in fact upgrading. This is also causing an issue since prior to this change you could mostly avoid th10’s up to master 2 – 1. Now however even in gold 1 every second base is a TH10 with disco’s, in crystal 3 and 2 it’s about 75% and in C1+ it is very rare to ever see someone without disco balls. These numbers are just based off me doing thousands of searches over the last week. Sitting at 2700 cups now I have had to switch to dragons since it is the only army that still has a shot at a 2 star.

The ones here who think they are OP and haven’t upgraded (like myself) are holding off because they are clearly broken and suspect they will be heavily nerfed soon. I and I’m sure others will be going to TH10 though if there is no change in the next update

That is what I fear as well, which is why I will not make the leap at this stage.

And dahimi, yep totally understood your POV now. While I don't necessarily agree in terms of how beneficial TH10 & Infernos should be, it does make perfect sense. TH10 is the apex predator and deserves the best.

I'm apt to agree that TH10 should always pose a major threat to TH9 and that a maxed TH10 should not struggle to fend off a two star loss from a TH9, since they also have other TH10s to contend with, that just makes sense. However, having something that seriously effects the game's mechanics isn't cool. What is the point of the heal spell now that it has been rendered completely useless because of a single defensive structure?

I say keep the disco infernos, but just make one minor adjustment: allow troops to be healed. The game is far more interesting when fending off attacks from at least two TH lvls. Most TH9 friends I know will not bother attacking TH10 with both ITs up in disco mode and just press the next button.

Before the IT update, I personally rolled the dice a heck of a lot more^^

Before the update it wasn't a dice roll. Hogs plus heal spells leveled anyone. Th10 spent more than half a year getting totally screwed by the loot multiplier and lack of justifiable defense.

The heal spell is still quite effective against th9 and below. Th10 gets the freeze spell which is an excellent counter to the infernos.

I'll rephrase, since tho I have maxed hogs, I don't use them: Aside from hogs, it required a lot of skill on the part of a TH9 to properly launch an offensive against a decent TH10. The same attacks do not stand a chance in hell of coming as close to getting results we were seeing due to one defensive structure's special ability to render one specific spell useless.

If hogs are the problem, then further nerf hogs (I know, this would cause a ♥♥♥♥ storm of criticism). But to make such a change to the game mechanics to counter one single unit, while diminishing the usefulness of all others is like using an axe to operate on a patient when the optimal tool is obviously a scalpel.

So, I guess you would prefer ITs to have the heal spell nullifying ability? Not judging, just asking

I like the idea of unlocking different abilities as you upgrade the infernos.

its also too bad you need a spell to beat them.

I'm fine with how the towers work now. The heal nullification makes it so that looting a th10 with ♥♥♥♥ troops is very hard. I believe that's how it should be.

Also, switching your infernos to this mode leaves you quite vulnerable to more powerful troops.
