any chance of adding human verification test for new users to creat account?

i have noticed a sudden increase in the amount of ad bots in the forum. i get really ticked off at them because they flood the "whats new" section of the forum preventing me from finding important new threads.

this feature for the forum would be helpful!

hmm, may i suggest ,
asking a question like how many hours are in a week? a user on another forum claimed that after asking such a question he never had any more bots.

You can suggest what you like, but it won't happen. We don't have control at that level, given we use vBulletin and SC are not willing to add more plugins.

We don't have many options, but the "new" reCaptcha is one of the best there are. And it still doesn't nearly stop all the bots. Nor does any other method out there at present.

And BTW, the thread you linked to was from 10 years ago. The "new" reCaptcha didn't exist then, and the developers of spam bots have advanced vastly since then.

Can you make and guess a percentage on how much you think bots spammed if you didn't had this and how many bots spammed now that you have this.
