It is just absolutely clear from everything you have said that the issue is with your device. Whether you just bought it or not, how advanced it may be are totally irrelevant.

There is nothing anybody here can do to help you, and no further useful advice that can be given. If it woks on your brother's device and doesn't work on yours, using the same connection, then the problem must be your device.
