Defending against Lightning spells on DE storage

Upping production Would do nothing but reward lightning further. It needs a counter in the form of something giving a defender a small chance of reducing the damage, therefore not to make it weaker or useless but require careful "placement" when used. The radius should be very small, but the defender should be able to pick 1-2 targets that it wants to "protect" from the brunt of the spell, and I felt having this dictate a telsa's placement would be a good counter. Hidden trap would work too but it would need to be expensive... I think the tesla idea is more balanceder!

Though I wouldn't mind a production boost, that does nothing to address the "problem" of the current system lightning spells operate on.

What skill do you possess in your job? I could get hold of a sharp knife and cut someone open. Granted I would probably mess them up, but then again, most people mess up attacks on my base when all they have to do is tap a screen.

I don't cut people open and just leave it at that. I perform surgery which is, using your quote, like you merely turning on your iPad or iPhone. The cutting is merely the first sequence I perform to get to the operating site... Similar to you looking within a folder for an app.

But focus on a minute bit of the thread and I will focus on you just turning on your iPad/iPhone.... You will tap the screen to the app...with skill of course as you have to select the right page, with the right folder, and the right app.......that takes skill effort and dedication

Also, as further proof that you donks wouldn't know a balance issue if you fell over, Supercell has clearly stated in their Sticky in the Improvements thread that they would not ever want to implement any type of system where you can exchange one resource for another. A lightning bottle is exactly that. You now have a way to exchange 20k gold for Elixir or Dark Elixir, your choice. Since they seem to be against this concept, you'd think they wouldn't be so shortsighted as to throw out a blanket statement of "spells probably won't be changing". Gotta love a good ole contradiction.

We stated in our sticky thread that we would not allow clan members or friends to be able to exchange one resource for another or to TRADE/DONATE resources to/with one another.

Let's take a step back though: using your argument, any raid at all would be a form of "resource exchange." If I spent 100k elixir to create an army, raided a village, and took 100k in gold is that not, by your novel definition, resource exchange? How is that any different than using a lightening spell to the same effect?

So, by your logic, any raiding or stealing of resources whatsoever constitutes resource exchange, which Supercell explicitly states is not going to happen. In that case, I guess we should completely remove raiding from the game since it goes against your interpretation of our statement on resource exchange/trading? Sounds good. Players can sit around piling up gold and elixir and never have to worry about unfair resource exchanges, building defenses, or throwing away all their hard earned resources on spells and troops. We'll just call it "Of Clans."

Also, the response you got from Supercell simply asked you to follow forum rules and did not even begin to suggest that we wouldn't consider changing the way spells work. We don't make blanket statements on any design decisions, unless we are 100% sure of the conclusion. Please do not attempt to speak on behalf or come to conclusions on behalf of Supercell as it is misrepresentative of our views and is not productive for the rest of the community.

Also, no vacation yet, just as long as you keep behaving all nice like!
