It would make things interesting if they made it so dark elixir troops couldn't be healed at all, but allowed regular troops to still be healed even when an inferno tower is shooting them.
That would be a terrible idea. It's always a really dumb idea by SuperCell to make troops targeted by Inferno un-healable.
The only reasonable 'nerf' from here IMO is to increase their train time a little. They are by far the most effective troop to cook in just 2 minutes. Which is why they are so common place now.

If someone wants to 3 star you, it's going to happen. If you were constantly being hit by GoWiWi, or hell, even BAM and losing constantly you would be posting about how OP they are.
Combat it by redesigning your base, adapting, and evolving. Hogs are fine as is. If you're losing to hog spam, you've got bigger problems.
That's the thing with hogs, you can redesign your base to make them less effective. GoWiWi is another kettle of fish and nothing can really stop that, it's what all the top players are using now because it's almost always a sure thing regardless of base design.
