I suppose weight is a factor in terms of where in the roster you are with your team mates. In terms of an easy ride, if you have kept your war weight down, you appear lower down the roster so have easier matchups, assuming people generally attack opposites.

And if you’re on a clan that does mirror attacking and thinks your lack of defensive weight should play a role in evaluating your offensive attacks....you’re on a medal farming clan anyway so just get your 8 stars for the week and move on.

I did indeed mean we are a little lightweight for our tier..
It may not interfere with the matching, but it sure as hell does interfere with performance, or at least the potential to perform.

We are a mix of warring accounts and casual players..
The casual players tend to bulk up our weight, since there isnt much reason to withhold upgrades in multiplayer..
Defensive weight is a bonus when you are simply looking to protect loot.

However, on the war side of the clan, old habits seem to die hard..
We roster engineered for years, so calorie counting is ingrained..
But now the accounts are growing, straight up balanced bases are preferable, as a big account is a big account..
Will draw big, will hit big, and will need to defend big..
Getting this message across to some is turning out to be a little difficult tho.

But yeah.. CWL is medal farming for us..
We dont have enough nous with the biggest accounts..
We do a relaxed week of pushing 8 stars per account with our mix..
And we cant get past hitting mirrors, since many dont read chat or clan mail when they show up, just hit, request, then disappear..
Heck, we havent even mastered the skill of opting in and out for war yet.

It is what it is.. The alternative is to do 15 hits per day in my mini, and life in general wont allow for that atm

To put things back on topic..
We do cwl in the mix zone, where each day can see an array of oppo bases..
But we do cwl each month in full knowledge on how the system works at our level..
Sure, it can get a little frustrating at times, but only when self control is low..
We do our hits, set up for the next day, have a laugh or a moan dependent on the mood in the camp..
Then we turn up the next day and do it all again.

We could choose regular war as an alternative, and prob have more fun..
But cwl is all inclusive, so long as the base progression allows.. Regular war is selective.--+
And that in itself is a good reason to be doing it.. Kudos to our guys for showing up every day.

We're in Crystal 3 now for the second month in a row. We do 30v - we struggle to get 30 attacks in ourselves. Usually newer people don't attack and I bench them after the first day. The problem is, the next strongest accounts are lighter. They might also be new players and there's a risk they don't attack. Or they are alts of our main accounts, and tend to upgrade more slowly. Or, we start getting into the TH9s at the bottom of our roster that don't have a viable attack on the board. So I'll leave a TH12 in that misses attacks because at least that base might defend, unlike the TH9.

At any rate, I'm happier in crystal than I was in gold. In gold, we seemed to have a long run where we'd destroy 5 clans who we were much heavier than, and get destroyed by 2 clans that were much heavier than us. 3rd place, no promotion, repeat next month. In crystal, we're finding one clan wrecking everyone, 2 at the bottom who don't belong there, and then decent competition in the middle. As JGD alluded to earlier, this is probably just luck of the draw, but so far, it's working well for us.

For the record I think the gold/crystal tiers are plagued with alt clans of Champions league clans trying to get multiple clans eligible for the Clash Worlds. There's not that many of them, but it's annoying to run into them. And it exacerbates a lot of the "mismatch" claims we see each month.

basically a question for anyone outside Champs 3-masters 1 or so. How fun, or how how frustrating is your current clw? I have multiple accounts, 2 max bases, 1 in champ 1 and opening champ 3 . I also have a th8, th9, th10, and a th11. My champ leagues r going as expected, veritable boiling pots waiting to explode anytime someone doesn't do an perfect hit. I can deal with that, the pressure is fine. But on my lower accounts, I'm finding clw to be frustratingly pointless, with exceedingly unbalanced groupings. Thru 5 or 6 rounds, its still unclear I'll even obtain the 8 stars needed to get full medals. If I don't, this has been a very unproductive and frustrating week of attacking bases 2 levels above me. At this point I have to view clw for anything lower than th13 as a waste of time.. its just not t fun for me, and definitely not worth doing if the medals r not there. Anyone else feeling like this?

If your accounts are unable to get 8 stars you might look to put them in a lower tier. You're not clear where each of them is, but a TH11 will easily get 8 stars in any crystal. TH10 probably too. TH8 & 9 maybe in lower crystal.

Crystal 3, won every war so far. 30 stars ahead of 2nd place. I'm not suprised because many people upgraded their TH this season.

In champs 3. We've won our 1st 3 wars, but so has another clan.
The rest of the clans have at least 1 loss; sone more.

War 4: we are currently at war with the other undeafeted clan. Before the start of war we were listed at 1st and they 2nd.

This war will most likely decide who gets promoted: us or them.
It's gonna be close, though.

Update here: we lost war 4 due to some bad attacks and a disconnection that ended in zero stars.
Dropped the next 2 wars too, but won the 7th.
4 wins and 3 losses, got us 3rd place.
We've finished in 4th the past 3 months, so at least a small step up.

We managed to escaped getting demoted by finishing 6th place in Crystal 1 again. Our roster consists of 10-1-4 this time. Four strong TH13s at the top with rest being casual players. At this rate, we are looking to stay at Crystal 1 until all TH11s upgrade to TH12 at least. There were again several clans that have lineup of all 13s. No chance in competing against those clans.

We came 2nd in Masters 3 15v15.

We won 6 out of 7, the clan who won the league won all 7, but still only beat us overall by 1 star - we were leading with 5 minutes to go, but they still had one attack left, which got them the star they needed.

They had also beaten us in the first war of the season by one star, so we gained 10 on them over the remaining 6 wars.

We had 14 Th13s, 1 TH12 this season.

We ended up finishing 5th with a 3/4 in 15v crystal 2..
Pleasing thing was that after the farce of the first 3 days, we never missed another attack in the final 4 days, winning 3 of them.

Correction.. The guys overturned 2nd placed team in day 7.. Should have waited for war end to post..
