Everyone grows tired of everything eventually, just ask my ex wife.
"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man"
Someone who enjoys the game should leave as opposed to those that don't? Have you really thought this through?
Nothing I am saying is decreasing the enjoyment anyone is getting out of the game, but the professional tantrum throwers seem to delight in talking it down and airing their irrelevant grievances. I imagine they believe they have stumbled across some truth, but there has been a steady trickle of navel gazers having their little moans for over half a year.
If I don't enjoy something I avoid doing it, believe it or not I learned that lesson as a toddler. I am simply helping those that don't seem to understand that concept.
I'm on board with the OP. I'm about to max my TH8 (tesla lv5/6, TH and walls to go) and now that the barracks boosts are over, it's really become a grind. Break my shield in the morning, get one raid for 100K. Log off to check my e-mail, getraided for -1,800 DE. Raid again on my 45 minute commute, click "next" the entire time and end up +300K gold on the hour. Log off for work, crossing my fingers for a TH snipe instead of losing that 300K.
I'm exciting for the first month or so of TH9 - lv6 giants, lv6 balloons, archer queen, 20 more troop space, xbows are all game changers for the next push. But after that, once everything is in the grind of 3+M upgrades for 7+ day builds? Not sure I'm gonna stick around for that.
Whine whine, collectors outside, I know. I'll be sure to protect them when I finally do decide to call it quits.
i wish the 1000 gold i lose on each press of next went to the base i skipped.
That gold should stay in the game.
I wish we lost less loot defending but lose MORE trophies instead.
At least this way you keep more loot to upgrade to defend
better. It shifts the game into a more rapid upgrade cycle.
Spells and hero healing take too long compared to the rest
of training. All training though needs drastically shorter times.
Most fun i had in months was the boost. It needs to be permanent.
Better to have 90% of players spending 1 gem for boosts than
5% of players spending normal gem amounts and the rest not gemming.
need new fresh game play. not just new troops and minor tweaks.
This IMHO is the most important.
I personally have never played the game less then I play it now. In the last two months, there's probably been 50 different times where I logged on to do an attack, clicked next fifteen or more times, got bored, and just logged off instead of looking any further for an attack.
I started doing all of the side-projects specifically because I just didn't particularly enjoy playing the game very much anymore. I still think it's a great game, I'm just not terribly excited to play it at this time. I have no plans on quitting, and I don't mind waiting for something to spike my interest, as I'm not exactly in a rush to be entertained by Clash of Clans. If I'm not entertained, I'll just log on less. The game isn't going anywhere, nor am I.
As far as my opinion on if the game is declining for others as well? The only thing that I can definitely notice is that it's much harder to find a decent active clan on Global. I've always jumped around clans, and I've probably joined hundreds upon hundreds of them, simply because I'm not really the type to just sit in one clan for very long. I'm normally in whatever clan my girlfriend is in these days, but she likes to hop around as well, so I'm usually in six or so clans a week right now.
I used to have absolutely no problem finding a level 50+ active clan with 45+ members all with badges and maybe only 6 or 7 new folks on Global. Now, I actually have to refresh Global six or seven times [well say it takes about 30-35 invites for those that don't refresh globals] just to find a clan with 45 or more members that doesn't either have 10-20 grey badges in it, or 10-20 guys who just joined. It seems like all the active clans in global now are either fresh clans just put together, or old clans filled halfway with people who no longer play.
It's harder then it's ever been for me to just find a seasoned stable clan full of primarily active players on Global, and I've got a LOT of experience finding clans like that on Global.
So, judging by what I've seen from Global, I'd say yes, there are a lot more inactive people in big clans then I can ever remember seeing in Global, and it's pretty hard just to find a steady active clan that's got some history in general anymore. I'd say if CoC has more members then ever, it's only highlighted how many people they have that are not really playing right now, because I'm seeing grey badges everywhere.

100% agree with this post. It's the way the game should be played. There is simply no reason why someone should have to wait 20 minutes for a full farming army of barcher, BAG, etc. to cook (the lowest tiered troops in the game). The game is fun when it is played, not watching grass grow.
