There are too many tiny clans. There are too many good clashers, or potential clashers, locked in clans too small to effectively play clan games, CWL, wars bigger than 5v5, even provide consistent support such as donations, advice or just social chat.

There should be a topcap system for new clans. Give a clan 30 days to reach 5 members, 6 months to recruit 10. Clans that miss deadline are automatically merged with another clan in the same circumstances and region. Leadership would default to the leader with the highest exp level. This would allow more players to access the enjoyable aspects of the game, and provide a check against the flood of doomed new clans.

I truly believe the recruitment tool will improve over time. Please read my posts on this topic not as complaints, but as a polite request for improvement. Often I include a suggestion, or an observation of an existing function that could improve the tool.
Before we throw the baby out with the bath, I would like to remind you that recruiting in global was no picnic either. Mostly hoppers, very few serious players.

On what do you base your assertions of "too many" whatevers?

Quite the radical solution to potentially a non-problem.

Also what happens when these small clans are forced together? There's no guarantee that the mergers would be seamless; in fact I see many possible pitfalls.

Good players are not Ďlocked iní. They usually know their options and are always free to come and go.

A very small % of players are represented in the forum discussions. And that % are likely biased in their playing style. Clans serve all sorts of purposes. Not all focus on 3-star specialists blood thirsty for war in all its glory.

Forcing clans together will not increase the fun for all.

I personally agree that more members would usually be more fun but I donít presume to know all reasons a player chooses a certain clan.

I have 3 accounts in an inactive (except me) clan of 13 for a reason. (I miss global where all sorts of views are expressed)

Good way to do it is get a few poeple that are the backbone of your clan to be online for a while some night, open the clan and start recruiting online. Always be talking amongst yourselves. Best way to attract poeple. Active chat that makes people laugh will always surpass a high level clan that is "to competitive to have fun".

Leading a clan is impossible unless you have a strong backbone or a few accounts of your own.

I liked your clan when I joined, it's just that your inactive chat is unapealing.

These clans with fewer than five or ten members are doomed. The merger may also be doomed. But at least there is a tiny chance of success, which is more than they have now. And if they don't like the merged clan, as you point out the good clashers is not locked down. He can go the free agent route, and maybe, just maybe, there will be one recruit worth inviting next time I click on "find new members"
