Hey there! friendly piece of advice. Bolts are really rare so people will rarely trade 1 for 1 for them try 2 to 1 or 3 to 1

Bolts are not really rare. All items drop with the same frequency. Otherwise the one that drops more will be worthless very quickly as there is only 1 method to use them up.

The reason bolts SEEM rare is because people with large barns HORDE them. HOPING for 2:1 trades.

Don't fall for the hype.

I don't think that's true. Why hoard bolts, and not planks or tape? Is it a vast conspiracy, with everyone with a large barn plotting to create an artificial shortage by agreeing to hoard just bolts?

Willie is correct. Equal numbers of each item drop, but some farms get more of some items, some get more of others. Bolts are not rare for me. They're the most common BEM on my farm. It's planks that are scarcer than hen's teeth.

That's kind of the point of trading. People who get lots of planks can get together with people who get lots of bolts, and even things out.

I suspect bolts and nails were picked because they were the first item on the list so it was convenient.

Just kidding. I agree. Bolts are not rare at all. And all BEM should probably trade at 1:1, though of course everyone's free to do as they please. If you want to trade 20:1 because you're drowning in bolts and desperate for a plank, that's your right. But newcomers should know that 1:1 is the "fair" price.
