@peabak : To be honest, I haven't checked out all videos with giants, but you should recall if you ever been attacked via the TH side and how easy/hard was for the attacker/s to get the DE.

I may have had a smart opponent or all your attackers where dumb enough to try attacking this from the sides and not from corners, but the funneling in my case didn't help at all, cos archers and barbarians followed the giants to the core right away once a hole was created in in the first layer.

Unfortunately can't record the replay cos already got 5 attacks, but will record one when will run into it as already saw a couple players with this.

Edit: here's a screenshot of the attack, no point on taking another screenshot of the layout if I had it exactly like in the first page. All my bombs are maxed out.

You may say anything about me, but don't misspell my name.

After a laborious three week wall grind I pushed the TH10 button last night. I'll try Ringus there and report back whether or not it is any good.

Peabak, seeing how amazing the th9 version is, and with an extra xbow and the specialised anti-bacon disco defences... I have good feelings about this! haha.

New TH 8 version, farming and trophy setup

Hey pea, it's been a little while =)
I'm coming back to you as ringus served me more than well on my early th 10.
Now my mini account reached TH 8 about 10 ish days ago.

You can certainly remember Th8 is a hard time, especially when you just finished upgrading, even from a fully maxed th7. Those lvl 6 giant/healer combos are undefendable, not even thinking about hogs.

I've seen some decent th8 bases (trapception, tempest, shuriken, pokeball, ttp, etc.), but they are either overused, or work best for at least advanced or almost maxed th8.

This is where my (I call it) tiny ringus setup becomes interesting.

Of course it won't be as effectiv as your ringus, but I think it could be kind of useful against those defense orientated armys.

    I made 2 versions.

    1.Farming version

    advantages:

    - cc completly unlurable
    - staggered junction
    - you can swap around the defenses as you like, which is very useful especially when you upgrade them (as you can see I have 4 defenses upgrading at the moment)
    - at least 2 giant bombs together, nice against hogs
    - you can swap cc and de storage to even better protect de (attention: makes the cc lurable)

This is the original version, without any defenses upgrading

    2. Transformer version:

Same advantages as mentioned above for farming version:
    - simpy switch between farming and trophy version, just replace th with de drill and replace the drill with any collector
    - you can swap th and cc if you prefer (attention: this makes the cc lurable)

I honestly prefer the farming version, as the funnel might work better, due to big entrances of transformer version the giant might not activate the spring trap. (Perhaps should rearrange these spring traps)

I just "created" both versions, so they are completly untested till now, but they are pretty close to the ringus design. I just hope they deserve me as well as ringus did to my main account.

Any feedback is highly appreciated =)

My question now pea, do you mind, if I open another thread with the th 8 design and the name tiny ringus, once it's properly tested?

    edit:

by writing this post, I just won my 1st defense. Classical barch attack (lvl 5 only) with 1 ragespell and barb king. Took 1 gold storage, nothing more, good start =)

Looks good. TH8 seems a world away to me now, so I can't comment much on the base, but with regards to the thread, sure, go for it. I haven't trademarked the name Ringus so you're safe there!

Actually if you are a maxed hall9 with a proper anti gowiwi base, if the attacker has lower than level 25 heroes and you have two level 2 witches in your cc plus your heroes are alive there is a slight chance to win in champs, just "very" slight. But with an antihog base you have a slight chance to be one starred because most will be 80%+ some will be 100%.

If you're protecting DE, try the de layout and switch places with CC. Thats what I am currently using and its working beautifully.

Good advice. I have done this a few times.
