Ringus: An Early-Mid TH9 Farming Hog-Cleansing Design

Come on, this is pretty amazing actually. Attacked by a lvl 91, who gems his base (shown by his player bio and village), has level 40 heroes! He does a hog attack, but they did nothing, his AQ did it all for him because he packed 4 lvl 6 heals, which he all wasted on his queen as she shot at the storages, sure he stole a lot, but a 73%? Pretty dang happy with this result, and I destroyed 2 lv 40 heroes

Heroes are causing trouble for everyone right now. Glad you like the base.

peabak, I have recently begun sometimes helping a friend with his TH9 account and set up the Ringus Trophy layout on it.
Even with only teslas Lvl1, the base rocks.
You Sir, are a genius.
Since Ringus was installed, I have witnessed 7 defense wins out of 10 attacks. No three stars at all.
From Gold league II until Crystal II. (currently, the clan is pushing).
Be it hogs or giants, attackers have failed a lot.

Hey, I used the trophy ringus on my push to masters (currently at 2665) and had great success with it. However now I have hit masters, I'm thinking about putting my town hall outside to hopefully get that free shield with minimum trophy loss. I really like the look of your farming ringus with dark elixir protection, however I was wondering if there is any way of incorporating the useless cannon on the outside inside somewhere? Any replies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Don't put it outside. If I was attacking, I will keep deploying troops since I am guaranteed to win already, so there is a very good chance I will have a two star.

Actually the useless cannon isn't so useless. I had an attacker drop giants in the southwest corner of my base. They went in, a few spring trapped, then they walked across the two giant bombs toward the mortar/tesla. After taking out the tesla, the giants stood there banging at my walls to get OUT of the base to attack that cannon! Was funny watching the attacker scatter troops in desperation and waste spells as his giants walked out of my base, then back in (on the spring traps to the northwest this time), only to end it at 32%.

Using convertible ringus with TH outside, so I lost a star, but that's the point. Was in Master 3 at the time.

In addition to what BobF said the cannon also...

a) acts as a lure to get Giants etc into the nearby funnel.

b) is a block to luring the Clan Castle from that side.

These two features are so valuable that with more defences at TH10 I'll probably do this on all sides, e.g...

Opinion is deeply divided. I say give both a try and see how it goes... test, tweak, repeat.
