You have 50 X-Bow DPS in your core. Two Level 3s will give you 150 so it's worth getting them. Watch a few hog replays on the first page, a strong core can deal with the packs that break off. Mortars in there help too.

However the sad news is they can heal through two Level 3 X-Bows too. In fact TH9 has nothing to counter heals/hogs, besides the ring concept. We just watch them circle our bases hoping we can grind them down, that their spells will run out before getting to the core. Springs and those double Giant Bombs certainly help (Level3).

Will be interesting to see if the Hog cost hike will make them any less prevalent. I'm not going to stop using rings anytime soon.
Im not gonna stop with rings to, giants are common too. However thanks for the advice I will try and use it after i reach masters for the achievement

The CC is not fully centered, but the teslas hidden outside the walls along the CC lure line prevent a small group of hogs from luring the CC. Double giant bombs work well, as does the hog pathing circle. I made a post about the base as well.

let me know what you think!
This is Mavios' Black Whole - I've spoken on the base a few times in this thread. Your changes make the ring stronger.

Will it work? Take it to Crystal 1 and find out.

Maybe in a week when my wizard towers are completed. 3 are upgrading and I'll be starting the 4th within the next 24 hours. Even a great design would fail in C1 if I had no wizard towers lol

In light of recent conversations I thought I'd give the Trophy Ringus another look. That kink in the corners next to the Wizard Towers puts them closer to the core than the original farming version. Something I don't like. So I'm going to start testing this new Ringus...

I put the Hidden Teslas in the core for extra punch (although with a little rearranging it could easily be put back to a standard Ringus 3x3 format). I really like the look of this core because I have space for my balloons (red better near the middle to catch packs of Minions and not the 'feeler' ones good attackers put out), the two Mortar spots still offer a little flexibility (I wonder if X-Bows could be put down with two AD there) and I'm seeing two lovely 2x2 spots for Inferno Towers in the future.

The extra ring safety and added corner defences has come at the expense of fluff layer strength. However, looking back over replays, I've yet to find breakers/troops that have hit there and not blown both open, so it may have been redundant. Worth a test at least.

One complication to my testing is I'm one DE Barracks down, which means I can't Balloonion my way up to masters in a few hours like I usually do. So initial testing will have to be in upper end of my BAMing range GoldI-CrystalIII. Should still get tested well there.

I'm quietly optimistic about this, which now of course means I'm going to wake up tomorrow to a barch three star.

BOOOOOOM, biggest army that's ever hit me...

    13 Giants, 12 Wizards, 2 Healers, L10 BK, L10 AQ, 76 Archers, 23 Barbs, 20 Goblins, 3 Heals, 1 Rage, 1 Lightning.

Those L6 Wizards are horrible. Their firepower is insane. The moment they blew into the core the Giants turned, again at that controversial 'Wizard Tower' point. Add both heros and five spells and that's quite a force.

I'll break the shield, find other fish and get to work in the builder trying to think of a way of preventing this. Great attack.

Ouch. That last replay was a tough one. Any thoughts why the giants didn't follow the ring?
