When are spammers getting a stop ?

    Specialist Babajis and Keto !
When are they going to stop ?

I mean there must be a way to stop this .

For now ,spammers are spamming links to their products only .
Are we waiting for someone to post something unhealthy ?something kids shouldn't see ?some link that makes someone download unknown files and get into theri devices ?

    Report them and move on.

SPAM posts are easy to recognise and avoid.

As a user oriented forum, the forum needs to reasonably open. Putting barriers in place just disenfranchises those genuinely seeking help.

Spammers will never stop, but the Mod Squad deal with spam on a regular and frequent basis.

Your post was above several spam posts which I have now removed. Unfortunately no-one had reported those posts.

It's very helpful if members do report spam, although we usually find it. Reporting draws our attention to it.

There are filters in place that catch much of the spam, so you don't see that (but mods do).

Thanks to all members who help to keep the forum clean.

Oh, and it should go without saying that it is very unwise to click on any of the links.

Alright I will report them from now .
I used to think it won't help and only become an extra notification to check because you can already see them .

The time I am active on the forums ,I see a lot of them being created so it's easy for me to report instantaneously .

Edit :OMG !!! Where have I been all this time ???
9 minutes after I wrote this ,I saw 2 spam messages .I reported them and what do I see ???

They are gone in less than a minute !

    That's praise-worthy
    GG Mods .

Spammer post on Hay Day forums too.

There are about 50 (sub-)forum open for posting, and Mods can see (hundreds of) hidden spam threads, it won't be easy to spot any spam thread if they don't go searching for it. Between replying to members PM, enforcing rules, doing Durian's laungry, reading threads and reporting players concern to the team, going to look for (hidden) spam isn't always the most fun part.

Reporting a thread doens't send Mod useless notifications, but draw their attention to it as Cowslips said, letting them know a few spam posts escaped from their routine checking. Each spammer only needs to be reported once (preferably their first threads). All their posts will be removed when Mods get to them.

Just as an additional note here.

We moderators are all volunteers, doing the role in our spare time, so we tend to see spam far more quickly in the forums we mainly read and respond in.

So the less visited forums, it is more important to report the spam as it might take longer for us to notice otherwise (this forum being a case in point).

    Phone/player verification?

Why don't these forums require some form of phone/player verification? Every day there's a number of spam threads clearly opened by automation scripts.

What are the cons of a player being required to enter some form of authentication (SMS/SCID/API token)?

Edit: guess this post will be moved to the Main Forums section, but I posted it here (Clash of Clans general) as it seems to be the subforum most subject to spam.

Yesterday I reported a number of spam posts, and when I tried posting the message above I got a "you have already started 5 threads today??" so I guess I will not report spam anymore.

All games are mobile games and I don't really see how adding a human-user verification would impair player access to the forums.

That would be severe overkill for a gaming forum. Some of us use 2FA regularly, but most of our members are unlikely to ever have done so, except possibly fr their online bank.

It does already require both captcha and email verification before you can start a thread - and limits threads to 5 per day.

You can make a single report and include multiple spam threads by linking them. For example, next time you report a spam thread, say something like:

"This thread is spam. There are several others in Forum Talk, too."

    or

"Spam. Here are some others I found, too.
