Sadly you are not as good as you think you are. Just drop 100 to 200 trophies and try again. If still too hard then repeat.
By the way, this wasn't an update so there was never going to be any mods / changes / nerfs / buffs etc. All they did was make it cheaper to boost barracks than they were before the Xmas boost period - that's a good thing right?
