The “free gem” bots that are ruining my clan, your clan, and everyone’s clan.

I don’t usually post on Supercell forums, but this problem has been bugging me (and my clan mates) for at least a year. I have been in 2 ‘anyone can join’ clans for multiple months each this year/last year. Every single day, there are scam bots that spam the chat with:

“DO YOU WANT UNLIMITED G E MM S? O N L Y — B E L O W

This is an extremely frustrating problem, as you can imagine. It is hard to get new players when half the players joining are bots. The bots leave immediately after they leave the above message, and then come back the next day. This has happened in clans that have a minimum of 2500 trophies to join, so increasing my clan’s �� count is not working.

These are the tags of the bots who have spammed the last 100 chat messages: <redacted> . The only way I could think of a fix for this is if Supercell blocked any message that had the exact phrase that the bots posted (i.e: any player who posted that exact message on the chat would be muted/banned from clans), or if leaders/co-leaders were able to ban players from joining a clan, permanently. Currently, when you kick a player out they are always able to join again after a week or so.

If you guys have any suggestions on how to deal with this problem, please let me know!

Did you set your clan to invite only ? wth trophy requirement, or private ? 'cause if you set it, don't think they can join

They don't ruin my clan, or everyone's clans. Or indeed probably most people's clans, since most are not set to "anyone can join".

But they are obviously a problem for those who are set that way.

What can be done about them, who knows? I know SC are putting significant efforts into catching and banning bots, but as Darian said earlier this week, it is always a case of bot builders finding ways around whatever SC do, the SC finding ways to stop those, in an infinite loop

The best way for my can to get new players is when it is set to anyone can join, so that is why the bots are coming

try to add requirements to 200 trophy ? maybe that helps ?

Do you get any good players when it is set to anyone can join? I know you say you think it is happening in other clan with 2500 minimum trophies, but what are yours set at?

Well there's your problem. Increase the trophy count and the TH requirement and you won't get spam bots. Or just set your clan to invite only.

My sleeper clan has this problem. I reported the same account six times, so reporting is not well supported.

The clan is left open so that people can come and go at will. If only the Whitelist were implemented, we would set it to invite only.

We had required trophies set to zero. Increased it to 1400, and the spambots came faster!

I suspect reporting fails when the account has already left the clan when reported.

i suggest that reporting have an explicit option for spam, and that accounts reported for spam be limited from joining clans until investigated.

And what about false reports from trolls? What if I'm a legitimate player and I made some angry for whatever reason, so that person makes a false report that I'm a spam bots and I need to jump to my sister clans. Am I barred from entering my clans until someone investigates the report?
