I understand now.
Farmers are usually hand on and do get sweaty and dirty doing their work weather its fixing fences, moving animals or working the fields. Ie dirty farmers
If you are not farming, then you are trophy pushing. With the current system, this is very difficult to do without strong offence and a decent defence. Because of this, many are forced to farm..

I don't see it as being dirty just farming.

Some gemmers complain about farmers. Some farmers complain about gemmers. Both groups of complainers are equally ridiculous.
Guys just so you know trophy pushes are people who have their town hall protected we upgrade town halls just like farmers and we don't gem there is nothing wrong with being a pusher. We have two objectives get trophies and upgrade buildings. We play the game how it was meant to be played. If you don't believe me read the town hall info.

IMHO from what I've realised, the so-called animosity directed towards farmers is usually from pseudo-hunters;
you know, the ones who try to climb but don't really get too far for various reasons: i.e.
- an underdeveloped base,
- they don't spend enough time on offence vs. defense,
- etc. etc. etc.
That, and the new players (sometimes farmers themselves, TBH),
who are having a hard time enough trying to gain a footing in a game without being, well, farmed by a farmer every time he / she logs out.
Serious hunters generally keep to themselves
and are quite happy playing their own game.
I have no apologies for farming,
it has given me a fairly pimped out base for a reasonably affordable price
(I will not lie, I shave a few days off my upgrades because my storages fill too fast).
And I've met some really good people here - people that I would not trade anything for.
But do we exploit a loophole in the game? Clearly.
Is the way we play the game the way it was originally intended to be? Hardly.
And do our hours of mindless grinding at upgrades, one collector raid after another raid make us more dedicated players than a hunter who spends mindless hours up in the cloud searching for that one base that is worth his time to raid?

La petite PommeFrites, getting her hands dirty tonight...
I started to farm once I could ex go any higher as a th7 without spending money. I first spent money, bought some gems, than started farming and have now been farming most of the game. When I try to trophie hunt, I don't last long. I quickly miss attacking every 30 minutes or so.
i don't see gemming or farming as dirty, just two different playing styles.
