I'm guessing you were trophy hunting as no farmer would spend 2 hours looking for a base to attack.

The fact you were only able to win 90 trophies in a week shows how hard this is currently going to be.

I'm around 2,700 with balloons/minions and can hold 4 spells (1xlighning, 2xheal & 1xrage). Normally need 2 spells per battle. I don't think I could get higher without using gems on the spell factory minimum. After the boost ends i'll probably drop lower.

I'm now at 2807 and easily using 3-4 rage per battle, i don't know what i'm going to do after the boosts ends. If i remember right its 20 gems per 45 mins which is too expensive.

No, its for four hours.

th9s have level 5 hogs too but only problem they have to manage things with one less spell. I believe its possible for t9 and 10 too but you will lose DE.

Believing something is possible and actually "doing" what one believes is possible are two different things. One still has to factor in variables such as sleep, work, school, "forced CoC breaks", attacks lost, defenses lost and any other type of time consuming activity. All the outside variables just seems to point in the direction that it's not feasible without gems.

Yeah, as bengan112 said, it's 4 hours now for 20 gems. I know most aren't but I'm happy to pay that.

Mind me asking what you're doing at the moment? Are you trophy pushing? Are you farming DE and Gold? Do you not need Elixir at the moment, reason being 3 or 4 spells plus that army is a lot.

Personally, I'm just trying something different and doing a little Gold and DE farming around 2,600 to 2,700. Bases are a lot easier around 2,600 though. Only draw back is the lack of inactives (can't find one) and all the loot seems to be in storages, never in the pumps/mines.

I'll probably drop down if things don't improve in the next few days.

Well I'm mid way through TH9 and I doubt I could do it without gems. That's not to say it isn't possible.

I got to 3064 after the inferno update. I believe balloon/minions is much easier than hogs. Also, less spells needed. I did boost my spell factory though. In theory it should be possible without gems if you got days of free time and a tremendous amount of patience to wait for your spells.

I used to think that, but it doesn't seem that way if you consider the math behind it.

Full spells for Miniball takes 2 hours 45 minutes. Which means you can raid 3 times with full spells before being forced out of your 8-hour session.

At Master I, i believe you lose more trophies in 1 raid than you can gain in 3, especially if you are a TH9 (hog food).

So, unless you can win a bit here and there with spell-less Miniball while waiting for full spells (i really doubt you can do that at Master I), you will be hitting a solid wall that only lady luck can tear down.

That's a valid point. So it is only possible without gems if you got a sea of time, a tremendous amount of patience, serious attacking skills and are terribly lucky.

Pretty much can't argue with this. Only time i get away with zero spells is on some inactives with empty x-bows and ITs. Not sure you'd find enough.

Best chance might actually be with TH outside. Sounds silly i know but there some people happy to grab a quick easy win & league bonus and then move straight onto another battle with full army.
