I seriously doubt it..... I'm currently just below master 2 and its the hardest i've ever seen it, i find maybe 1 TH9 a day max so no easy pickings.

I was at 2700+ for around a week and my highest was 2790 and I just looked for 20m-2h+ to find a max th 9 or an easy th 10 so I don't see ur point

His point is once you get higher and higher easier bases become harder and harder to find which means it will become harder to gain trophies and then make it extremely hard not to gem.

Aren't you a TH 10 though? OP wants to know if it's possible as a TH 9.

I am also inclined to say it's close to impossible without gems. Pre-update there was a chance, but with the new IT and AT there isn't. Especially not with hogs. Also, in order to attack in volume to offset your inevitable losses you need a spell factory boost. 3 hours waiting for spells is just too long to babysit your iPad.

th9s have level 5 hogs too but only problem they have to manage things with one less spell. I believe its possible for t9 and 10 too but you will lose DE.

I'm guessing you were trophy hunting as no farmer would spend 2 hours looking for a base to attack.

The fact you were only able to win 90 trophies in a week shows how hard this is currently going to be.

I'm around 2,700 with balloons/minions and can hold 4 spells (1xlighning, 2xheal & 1xrage). Normally need 2 spells per battle. I don't think I could get higher without using gems on the spell factory minimum. After the boost ends i'll probably drop lower.

U didn't answer to the OP, the question is do you able to get to Champ in TH9 after the last update without spending a single gem.
