In regards to the actual matchmaking search, it cannot be based on trophies simply because it is not an accurate form of comparing strength and ability. Elite farming clans would destroy some other clan in their trophy range full of players who don't quite completely understand the concept of the game, yet. I VERY much approve of the attack delays, thus negating any chance of gem abuse, however, being offline and shields should not take in effect. ie: Clan full of gemmers all manage several attacks while online, all players buy a two day-week shield. Now this is very extreme, obviously, but I almost guarantee this would happen eventually and it would mean a cheap easy win. I honestly believe the best form of attacking, like I said, is to not have shield or online barriers, but more so based on attacks per x hours. ie: Each player in a clan can do up to 5 attacks per 12 hours, thus making the attacking completely equal. The only advantage in this case would be a slightly more active clan taking the upper hand, but that is quite fair.
In regards to the actual clan matchmaking, perhaps on top of the overall trophy range, there should be town hall statistics kept in check, as in clan A with 30 th 10s, 15 th 9s, 5 th 8s cannot attack clan B who have the same amount of trophies with 45 th 7s. Now, of course the accept/decline option takes all of the matchmaking issues into reality, I feel a lot of disinterested clans may waste players times by just declining everything. Once a clan makes a certain decision to war on another, that clan should have to accept within x amount of hours, otherwise the clan will be thrown into war regardless.
Lastly, an option for clans to do several wars if they wish and the ability to turn off wars altogether if the clan approves.
