The proposed clan war has pretty of good points, but I felt that the proposed clan war favours bigger clans and is not inclusive. I am from a small clan (< 10 members) and I will never get to participate in a clan war ever!! I felt that the rules are too complicated too. My proposal:
Starting a clan war
Clan war should be initiated by the clan leader / clan elders and supported by 50% of the members (e.g. 5 members of a 10-member clan). Once 50% of the members agreed to go to war by clicking the "support" button, the clan will be thrown in a pool and matched to another similar clan (same number of members and +/- 500 total clan trophies) who had also agreed to go to war. When a match has been found, the clans will be notified: "Clan war will start in 30 minutes!"
Match-making in a clan war
When the top seed member in the clan (i.e. the guy with the most trophies) clicked the "clan war attack" button, he will be matched made to the rival's top seed if he is available. If not, he will be matched made to the next highest ranking rival. He must make an attempt to attack or he will be eliminated. The same goes to the rest of the members (lowest ranking matched to the lowest ranking member in the other clan). After an attack, a player will either be eliminated or given 10 minutes (count down clock in the village) to start another attack, queue his barrack, spell factory, request for clan troops, etc. Thereafter, he will be shut out of his village for 10 minutes. During the 10 minutes, his village will be available to the opponents. He returns to his village after 10 minutes or until he has been attacked by the opposing clan. He will be directed to the clan chat page or situation page (showing the status of each member, amount of loots in the pool, who eliminated who, etc.) while he waits out the 10 minutes. While the player may also get attacked by the "general public", his base will still be available to the opposing clan (this will prevent players from hiding behind shields). The defending village will get a "10 minutes clan war shield" if he is not eliminated after each attack to allow him to re-arm his traps and request for clan troops reinforcement.
Elimination
A player get eliminated from the clan war when his/her base is two/three-starred x1, one-starred x3 (to deal with those who always leave their TH outside) or when he failed to attack or get at least 30% when he attacked an opponent's village.
Winner
The clan who eliminated all the rival members will win the clan war. All loots obtained during the clan wars will be directed to a general pool that will be given to the winning team. Surviving members of the winning clan will get 70% of the pool, divided equally among them + 5 gems each. Eliminated members of the winning clan will get the remaining 30% of the pool, divided equally among them + 1 gem each. Only clan members who joined the clan before the clan war started are eligible for the loots. The losing clan gets nothing. Clan members who leave the clan before the clan war ends, gets nothing. In the event of draw, each clan gets 40% of the pool, divided equally among all (i.e. surviving and eliminated members).
Clan War Season
Each clan war season lasts 2 weeks (follow the league season). Each clan / player get 3 chances to participate in clan war during each season. A player can hopped around the clans, but if he had already participated in 3 clan wars with other clans in the season, he will be ineligible for the clan war that his new clan is participating - even if he is around when the clan is initiating a clan war.
