I'm at level 57 with 86 plots, and I don't know how many is the maximum allowed yet. I'm using 80 of them for crops, and the plots are divided into three fields of even numbers. The remaining six plots are planted with decorative indigo and tucked in here and there around the farm as my growing fields are sufficient at the moment. (That was an idea I took from someone else's farm.) I plant entire fields with one crop because my thumb just isn't delicate enough to manage planting multiple crops in strips. Besides, I've planted raspberry bushes between the three fields to maximize the space and also because they look pretty. Occasionally I'll plant two overnight crops in the largest field, but not usually.

Judesnz, your farm is charming with a capital C!!! It is farms like yours that encouraged me to start using my individual plots for ornamental vegetables in flower! I'm doing it now with indigo and may use the potatoes in the future. Very nicely done, and thanks for sharing those pictures!

I would not mind if others copy decoration styles.
Oh, I do like this idea a lot! Time for a change-up at Glynkoko Valley; its just been a expansion of meandering cow paths since its inception. A river running through it would be so delightful!

I welcome this discussion as I've admired features of my neighbors farms and want to learn from their creative ideas. I love the patterns some farmers employ with crops, trees and bushes. And the tricks on the eye played with clever combinations of structures. (Although I'm more of a meandering path kind of gal myself)

I will definitely need to do something different with my farm when I start adding those last 3 machines not yet available to me.

I don't seem to have those really creative ideas that I've seen on so many other farms, so I need to try to emulate some of those designs...and I'm still not sure I get the same cute effect.

I have seen some farms (one of which is a neighbor of mine) that create the illusion of having tiers, or upper and lower segments of land, if you will, and have berry bushes planted in between to make it look like the berries are planted on a little hillside. I really like that look.

I also don't think I would be comfortable with trees and bushes covering my machines or animals...I don't want to miss seeing items that may be sitting on the bench to be picked up, or not being able to see one of my livestock that is ready for me to collect its product. I'm sure going to have to figure things out when I get to the level of needing to plant olive trees...those things get pretty big!

My farm has such a "blah" little look, I think, but it is quite functional, so I guess that's something good.

May I please stand in line for help from you, Jude, in creating a fun, yet functional farm?

a lot of my machines, and some of my animals are hidden behind trees, either because the look of the machine is displeasing to me, or I think the animals need some shade in the heat of a sunny HD day. The products sit on top of the trees when finished, not behind them.

i think we have conversed enough that a friend request is appropriate. I will send you one soon as well.
