Just how does one learn to part with saws and axes BTW? You just know you're gonna need them eventually. This irrational fear of never being able to replace things like that still surprises me. Bit like hoarding dunny paper I guess

Is there a recommended/comfortable ratio you should have of these? Any guidance welcomed thank you!

Oh, if anyone knows of a link that tells the max sugar & dairy items allowed per level or barn space? Having issues with (trying to hoard) sugar items. Used to be I could store around 100 + in my barn, but it just keeps telling me my production queue if full despite barn space being awfully low on them. Don't have the massive stockpile by machine like I used to either. Dairy as normal tho... Weird.
I like to keep a certain number of saws and axes in my barn. Because of the higher number of trees that I have, I keep close to the same amount of saws. I can part with both saws and axes when I have more than the amount I like to have. Plus, after I've cut down trees and replaced them, I know it'll be awhile before I need to cut them down again, so I will sell saws then. I usually find plenty of saws in the paper and when wheating. Saws and axes are two more of those things I buy whenever I see them for sale, unless I am way overstocked on them. Saws more than axes though. Axes are a little more rare for me to find.

Not sure why because my newest machines, candy, sauce and sushi, don't even require them! I've been debating whether or not to get my last 6 hens but it would ruin the aesthetic of my farm and frankly, they're so easy to find that I just buy when I need extras. I bet when I'm high enough of a level to start making mayo I'll think again about getting more hens, but for now, I'm buying eggs from others.

BTW, I can almost always count on your store having just what I need. Thanks, neighbor!

On the egg front, I gave up trying to sell the blighters a long time ago. Even at 1 coin per egg they'd sit there until Tom or Greg bought them. Now I only harvest them when I need them so my poor girls are egg-bound a lot of the time.
Since we got the last 3 machines , my poor little chickens don't get chance to sleep at all, their absolutely exhausted !!
I've always had 18 chickens & I'll put money on it that you buy the other pen Shealie once you get the mayo ....1 jar = 4 eggs, then you have mayo in 3/4 of the salads.
LadyDawn, I'm always buying eggs , so get them on your shop Hun , but I don't pay more than 100 coins for 10 eggs that's still better than 1 coin per egg
My son always puts 10 eggs on at 180 & usually sells them

I've been advertising and selling one item at a time for the past two days, because I am very close to my Citizen Kane III achievement. I hoard saws, axes, jams and cheese cake (mainly cause its a pain to make, IMO). I am guilty of finding good deals in the DD and reselling at max price, because after buying a machine a few levels ago, I am strapped for coins at the moment. I'm not making anything off truck deliveries right now because I always keep saying I'm going to go for my TT III and then whims out at the last second. Last time I tried, I delivered 29 and ran out of stuff, and I got really sad lol. Also, I know that most of the time if your boat calls for something, it won't be in the DD, and if I see that my neighbors need something that's readily available in the paper, I will go and buy it to out in their crates. I know I lose money, but I hate that feeling of having empty crates sitting there and being at someone else's mercy to send away the boat. Probably why I hardly ever have any money, lol.

we used used to be able to store more items outside the production machines (somewhere around a hundred as I recall) but now it is around fifty. Once you have more than that, you get the production queue full message. You should only get that message if you have the quota outside the machine and your barn is full. If your barn is not full then the items should be going into it when you tap the machine that has items stored outside.

I don't think there is a correlation between how many of an item you have in the barn and how many you store outside the machine. And, it never occurred to me, but I'd be surprised if there was a maximum quota of any item per level or barn space. Will be interested to see answers to that.

I read an interview with a Supercell bigwig who said while the barn max storage size was 10,000, having more than 1,000 of any one item made the game unstable.

I like selling premium items especially when I have extras. Any cakes, fish, jams, pizzas, just about anything that takes hours to make. I sell by piece but if i feel like i have too much of one item i'll sell by a larger quantity. I sell bulk of potatoes to those who are not potato planters like me. Popcorn every so often and wool items daily. I have also started putting sems up for sale recently and any lems that pop up while i harvest.

My neighbors are familiar with my shop having premium items so they are bought within minutes or sometimes just seconds. Although i do put a lot of premium items. I am a huge hoarder though, i like having specific quantities of my premiums so I can help out my neighbors whenever they are in need. I always try to have large quantities of sugars and dairy to make my premium items. Unfortunately i do not help anyone who flags sugar and dairy but i only do that to continue to make items for my shop and my barn.

I mostly sell wheat with the ads for the DD & save the good stuff for my friends. While I'm wheating I may throw in an LEM, BEM, or SEM. But I just make stuff to sell to get extra coins. I sell all of the extra stuff to friends & neighbors. I usely make whatever gives the most amount of coins for each machine (chocolate cake for the cake oven, cherry Popsicles for ice cream maker, expressos for the coffee kiosk, & etc). I hoard a little of everything. I tend to keep 6-8 of every item depending on what it is. I believe what you sell & what you hoard depends on how you play the game. Some may want to level up fast so they keep all or most of everything you make in machines & sell more common things. While others like to level up slower & focus on coins so they sell a little of everything (like I do).

10,000?!?!? More than 1,000 of a single item makes it unstable?!?!?! I wish! I'm at level 70 and my barn is still only 1050, even though I've spent real money buying diamonds to upgrade on three occasions. I just hate having to empty out my barn so I can store all of the BEMS; 40 each for the next upgrade. I try and maintain around 8 - 10 of most items, and enough carrot juice, bread and popcorn to fill a boat crate for someone else. Is that hording? I'm starting to sell what I guess are premium items, stuff - sandwiches, salads, sushi and soy sauce (love the alliteration) and raspberry mochas because I want a bed of sunflowers. I only have 10 hens, so sometimes have to buy eggs, and only 10 cows, so sometimes have to buy milk and only 4 goats so sometimes have to buy goat milk to satisfy a boat, but I figure if no one bought these things there would be a lot of unhappy farmers selling goods past their use by date to Greg.

I do that, too! I'm not that focused on leveling up, so I make things that bring in lots of coins and are in demand. And what I have the ingredients for. For the pie oven, the casserole brings in the most money, but it takes cheese which I'm often using for other things, so I make shepherd's pie a lot. No cheese required!

Going to have to kick those hens in gear when we are able to make mayo. I've been buying lots of chicken feed lately to, running short trying to keep up with eggs.

Maybe it has to do with having a bigger barn and being able to store more of the things we could not before that use eggs. Like you I try to make things like cornbread which require eggs for my own use and to sell. I have run into problems lately many times with my boat orders and not being able to find cornbread, pancakes and muffins when I need them. The higher level you are the more those crates need of each. Ideally I would like to be able to store 12-16 of each, that seems to be what my boat orders require, but don't have the barn space for that yet. Since cornbread has been the hardest to find, I am now keeping 12 of those and pretty much have 1 or 2 in my machine at all times.

So I think that is where all my eggs seem to be going lately.
I used to welcome cornbread boats and now it's like "Oh no, will I be able to find enough?" But I only have that problem when I get the boat. At other times I see cornbread EVERYWHERE, but I can't store much of it at a time because of barn space issues. My barn is at 950 and I'm pretty happy with it. I keep 10-12 of each of the premium items, 20-30 of the dairy and sugar items, so I don't have room to keep so many of the more common items, including cornbread, and I trust that the DD and neighbors will have them in their shops. Makes for interesting shopping, though that's generally the kind of shopping I like to do - for something specific and under a little pressure.

I don't keep more than 25 of either saws or axes on hand and sell the rest. I just don't have the barn space; however, I only harvest trees and shrubs as needed, and then only a very few at a time. I rotate the harvests so that I don't have to cut anything down for quite a long time, and I harvest saws and axes like they're going out of style. "Saws again??"

4 eggs for one mayo?? REALLY?!??? You're right, I'll be getting those extra hens. I used to harvest my little girls every 20 minutes back before I started storing larger numbers of food items, and I remember one day I noticed I had 92 eggs in my barn. Whaaa??? And I rarely, if ever sell eggs; however, back in those days (a whopping 6 weeks ago) the little people came and bought up lots of my surplus. Now they don't because I tend to only harvest the hens when I need their eggs, and the same with their feed. I just don't have the room. And it all changed when I had to start storing 10 of each item to get my two Turbo Trucker achievements. That's also what broke me of hoarding popcorn. I haven't hoarded it since though I still get a thrill when I have to shop for it for boats. That's also when I stopped harvesting my cows every hour. I almost never have extra milk to sell anymore.

Yep, extra hens on their way! Now to figure out where to put them...
