Interesting to see how people manage their barn. Could we have a poll for "Do you stockpile items ?" as part of management strategy. I do and have tons of ores outside my mine, none mine equipment in barn.

Those are keeping mine equipment, are those for trade rather than your personal use?

I usually focus on 3 staring my buildings and only filling boats that are fairly balanced. I do try to stock up on jams since they take so long and keep jewelry for trucks. I sell of EMs when I have too many. I prefer to consume tools on trees and bushes and use the fruits or sell them if I have too many. I'm just growing stuff for feed and sugar, I sell all the plants I have the most of and all the animal products I not going to use.

Like you, I stockpile ore outside the mine. But I do keep mine equipment in my barn for personal use. I almost never sell it, and have never traded it.

Hello, new neighbor! You're right, those are harder to find. I almost never plant them myself, especially those 8-hour strawberries, but I've learned to keep an eye on my silo, and whenever I get down to around 30 of those items I'll buy a few when I come across them while shopping for other things. Like so many other items, there's a sort of magic about them and they seem to disappear when you need them the most, so buy when you don't really need them and still have enough to plant a whole field just in case you can't find any and HAVE to plant a whole field.

    Clear as mud?

Great thread for tips on barn management, thanks!

I'm Level 44 now, still expanding land and barn/silo, so I keep all those. Selling, I do a lot of fruit, in lots of 10, and the rarer sold items like jams etc in lots of 1 or 2. I do a mix of advertising and just for friends, depends if I need money for something!

I can't stockpile as much as I'd like to at this level, my barn's only at 525, but I try for 10 of sugars/syrup, milk products, and 5-7 of anything else depending on how close to an upgrade I am! Definitely sick of seeing that "barn is full" sign!

I sell 10 at a time to keep space free in my boxes. I don't have a big barn so can't afford to use several slots to sell one product. If I want two of something and someone is selling ten, I buy them, use two and put the other 8 straight in my RSS - they sell quick enough

i often have a lot of wheat (at 10 for 10 or less) because I have been 'wheating' a lot to get more BEM. I sell it cheap just to get rid of it.

Darn planks have killed me since the day I started playing. I'm out of barn space as we speak, because my next boat order is all dairy items, so I have it filled right now with cream. Can't even go shopping at my neighbors until this boat comes in.

Some of these items I don't seem to have luck with selling them at full price. But these lots of 10 all seem to be at full price, so if I buy them, and then have to sell a few, it's a loser for me, as I sell them for less then full price.
We are already neighbours - I find tonnes of planks but no tapes. Let me know if you are ever keen for a trade

I sell tonnes of cornbread because I haven't unlocked any recipes it can be used in yet

I thought I was hoarding my sugar and dairy stuff (I help fill boats with them as well as use them in production), but I only ever have 8-15 of each. I also like like to keep 10-20 of breads and popcorn for helping with boats. But man, some of you have truly awesome barns!

i always try to balance my need to make money for new machines with a desire to have a decent supply of most things on hand for boats - both mine and neighbors'. I also tend to sell most products in ones or twos, and sell lots of harder to find products; I put out some of the harder to find crops (cacao, coffee, potatoes, etc) a couple times a day.

I advertise a few times a day, and fill my RSS for neighbors a few times (and the LEM and SEM stuff goes unadvertised most of the time). Occasionally I go wheating, and always advertise 10 for 6 then.

last night I amused myself by loading my upper crates with brown items, and the lower ones with red/pink items. Usually I just put in whatever I have the most of, though.

    Really interesting reading this thread

I have a friend that once sell 50 land deeds in the same time
And that time i wonder his barn capacity
And now i can figured it out

    Im at level 49
I start playing since two months ago
I already expanded all land and fishing areas
So i guess i dont need landeed etc anymore

    I sell 10 wheat for 1 coin
I sell basic veggies at basic price
    Hardly sell tomatoes and potatoes
    Dont need indigo
I try to keep fish and lobster tail around 20
And so does sugaries and dairies
I keep axes and saws around 50 each

    My barn cap 800
    My silo cap 700
