In my clan people are supposed to keep a 3/4 ratio- donation or request.

Thanks for this advice. I will mention it to my clan leader and see what we can do. The high donators are great people. Friendly, helpful, and generous. And I wouldn't want them to feel awkward about donating in the future.

If your clan has donation requirements, then it's inconsiderate to race for donations if you already meet the reqs. If there are no reqs, then there really isn't anything to complain about.

Aye I've come across this problem before... The only workable solution that I have been able to come up with is that if you have members struggling to meet the donation quota you have them say in chat that they need to donate, and when that message comes up everyone else holds back a little so that person can get their troops in.

I donated around 12k this season and there are more people like me in my clan. Noone complained about that so far.
