Clan poll- Vote on clan decisions.

I have read a few of these clan poll ideas and yours is the most thought out that i have found so far.

Some questions/suggestions on how polling may work:
1. Wouldn't it be better to have the responses be anonymous rather than a list of name on who voted for what? a simple bar graph or number next to each option would do the trick. Listing out the name of someones choice could cause more unnecessary clan drama for some questions.

2. Just have a list of people that do not respond so you know who is inactive or did not care to vote.

3. To avoid excessive polls only allow 1 poll in a clan at a time. Have preset timeouts on the polls that must be selected before starting a poll ie. 1 day, 3 days, 7 Days. When the time is up the poll closes, results sent and a new one may be started.

4. When the poll times out would the results be sent to the person that initiated the poll or would the results be published in a clan message. Maybe make an option for this in the creation of the poll?

5. Would all polls have to be binary? only 2 options possible. ie. yes/no or this/that
Personally I would like all polls to be binary makes creating and answering them easier

Julez can you edit your first message to include some of the answers to questions that needed clarifying, prevents people from asking the same questions over and over again in the forum.

1. Well, the leader is the only one who can see who voted for what- if the whole clan could see who voted for what it would certainly cause issues.

2. Well, I suppose that you could have a grey bar underneath the feedback graph displaying who has not voted yet (For the leader to view, of course).

3. I like that- good idea! I didn't think about the possibility of having multiple polls existing in the inbox at once. That would certainly cause clutter. Perhaps the leader could chose between 1-7 days, and when the previous poll ends the leader has the ability to send a new one out. A poll cannot be 'canceled' or ended early.

4. The leader can send a separate clan message disclosing the results of the poll if they wish. The leader is the only one who can create a poll.

5. Yes. All polls would be binary. Having any more than 2 options would cause unnecessary confusion and clutter.

2.) choose answers other than just yes and no, on subjects like who should be promoted
3.) if the leader sends a poll for all members that ends in 7 days and needs to send to elder+ or coleaders, the limit for polls is only restricted for that type, so a clan can have three active polls, though only leader/coleader would see them all

Ok. I think a simple solution to the limited binary polls would be a elder+ chat. Maybe I'll think of a way to incorporate it in a better way than everyone else. Also 3. Is because leader may need to ask if a war is in order AND if anyone needs to get the boot at the same time.

As a clan leader, it's tough to get the opinions of your members. The Chat log only holds so much and if you don't log on all the time you can miss part of the discussion. And if you announce something for the inbox you still have to deal with the chat log for discussion.

The ability for leaders and co-leaders to initiate polls would be invaluable.

The poll is gonna appear in their inbox too! If they see it then what will happen? They'll get angry and start being abusive or just leave immediately, so these polls need to be customised so they only go to certain inboxes.

This would be a GREAT solution to add a management dimension to the clan to help with the "duties" (if you will) to coordinate and satisfy the desires of 45 individuals in a clan. LOVE the idea!!!

You seem to have not read the part about being able to send polls only to elders or co- leaders.

This would be a GREAT solution to add a management dimension to the clan to help with the "duties" (if you will) to coordinate and satisfy the desires of 45 individuals in a clan. LOVE the idea!!!
