[Discussion] 1 Gem Boost (or Lack Therefore of) and its Effect on Loot

What do you think will happen to the loot with the new loot system and the removal of the one gem boost on January 7th?

Not sure about you guys, but me personally, I'll either be Klark Kent or perhaps Superman (but with Kryptonite stuffed down my pants).

I think loot will remain the same. Reasoning is, as far as I can tell, loot is back to being good again, but not for a good reason. From what Ive seen, a lot of casual players have quit and thats why we're finding good loot again.

But the 1 gem boost being over will put a frowny face on my face, because I wont be able to speed farm anymore :P

The boosted collectors might also help a bit.

A lot more people are also raiding because of the boost. They might be taking all of the loot.

Agreed, i see so many dead bases now. And many that arent completely dead have no league tag ten days in...a sign of things to come?.....time will tell. Did see the SC commercial on ESPN. Wonder if theyr will be influx of new players with the new advertising.

Obviously only SC knows the true numbers, but it does seem to me that there are significantly more abandoned bases than there used to be.

I imagine the changes to loot recently made in the game made it too hard for the premature bases. Perhaps the casual players probably saw themselves getting looted for 350k and 400k and decided to quit.

Honestly the changes to the looting system I think were good. After being in it for a month I'd say it makes being at a higher TH more reasonable. Pre-Update to do serious damage to a TH9 or 10 would require you to use far more resources than you could ever gain back.


But the loot change was not a change to the amount of loot available. Its only logical this means loot is shifting and from what I can see its moving upward to some degree. Its also requiring a lot more next button clicks to find those juice loot totals. This is frustrating but I for one at the end of the day actually raid more under this system.


In Crystal hog raids are rampant and with the new looting system old TH9 farming bases are nearly obsolete. Which I am fine with at the moment because of my anti-hog base. However, even a good anti-hog base can be flattened by a really skilled hogger (anything below th10). However their are few truly skilled hoggers, so I don't have a big problem with it.


Above 2500 trophies right now is now the domain of TH10. Here disco infernos are dominating the landscape - largely due to hogs and balloons. I really wish I had lvl4 drags, as with the current environment I bet my bid for Masters would of been easy with the large scale use of this feature. I'm wondering if Th9 has been officially dethroned.



But I'm worried about after the boosts are over. Loot isn't crazy from what I've seen. I am really hoping the next update will give us something to increase the available loot

I'm pretty sure the loot will be better, people attacking now every 5 minutes and stay online so you can't attack them

I think the loot will improve a little. I can raid enough resources for my upgrades in 2-3 hours at the minute with 1 gem barracks boost. With that gone, I can still raid for decent resources but slower. That means I'll have to take long breaks between raiding to sleep, eat, work, family etc and that means I'll be sitting on high amounts of resources while trying to save over several days of raiding.

I'm finding SO many abandoned bases at the minute. I earned about 5m resources last night just hitting collectors with goblins, giants and barbs.
