Trust me, its a revenge attack when you get no bonus or like sandalhat said the beginning of a season before you have a badge.
You're not getting any loot bonuses for revenge attack cause it would be extremely easy to abuse, do a farming session then a Trophy push, when you're in master or champion check back on your farming defences and pick off some TH 7s.
A way around that could be to give you the bonus depending on the defenders League (which would be more fair) but that would ruin some of the value to actually get in the high League and stay there.
