I don't disbelieve you have your degree, but I do believe that it's probably written on a napkin from your local area community college.

    Goodnight all!
Thats because your knot old enuf to know someone my age...to have been on forums long enough not to care about punctuation.....

See...THEIR is PROBUBBBBLY a lot of things you don't know that you will discover later in life.

This is a forum...this is a time sensitive discussion, not a term paper or typing final.

yes, we had typewriters when I was in junior high.

Yeah, so what? You are not understanding. DO YOU USE SPELLS WHEN YOU RAID OR NOT? 4 spells times roughly 30,000 elix each is not petty cash penelope.

Failure rate on raids doesn't matter, that isn't figured into this nor does it need to be.
The bottom line is Gold needed to "complete" the game, is over 9 times greater than the required elixir. Which is absolutely staggering. There isn't a single player in the game with a Gold Grab or Elixir Escapade over 2 Bill., there's only a few handfuls over 1 billion, which means it's feasibly impossible to obtain anywhere near enough resource by raiding. Understood?

I will agree with you on this, it does seem like gold is more rare to find while raiding, I do notice that as well, however that is because as a general population on Clash, gold is more frequently spent, and is therefore scarce, making it, by definition, more valuable.
Actually you misunderstood. I say again, since the last few updates...gold is NOT as rare as elixir. Before yes, most definitely. Not now. YRMV depending on the league you raid in.

BTW,,, by definition, scarce does not mean valuable. Scarce means low availability. Depending on the demand for that something that is scarce may or may not make it valuable. Don't use cliches when you don't know what they mean. If you wanted to say "by implication" that would have made sense.

Your argument is invalid. And here's why.

When you raid, unless you just got a new th level, you look for gold. You will raid for 200k/100k any day, right? This explains the rates you see. And if you actually look at the amount of loot availible, you will see more wrong with your statement.

Nope..before the update i would have agreed with you. Not now. If you are sitting on more or less maxed elix sure it seems like a no brainer to do as you say. But 100K doesn't cover anything but a mostly tier 1 army only and without spells. You will bleed elix at that rate. I only very rarely ever see someone with maxed walls for their th level. We all know and agree that doing walls is the big purchase but is hardly ever completely done until the highest of levels. Which goes back to what I said...YRMV Your Results May Vary based on your league.

IME since the last update esp. the available loots have been gold heavy if anything. Before the update yeah, elix was easy to find.. which is weird because the amount spent on nexting now.

Here is another factor too...since the loots have been increased, people including myself are very hesitant to keep both resources stockpiled up. People are doing one resource at a time and blowing off the others to discourage and prevent catastrophic losses from raids.

    Dictionary definition

This was taken from definition 3 of my iphone dictionary app (sorry, don't know the publisher & too flu-ridden to find out now):

"the management of the resources of a community, country, etc., especially with a view to its productivity."

Nothing about trade or negotiation. You guys are quibbling about a definition none of you has bothered to look up.

A 'command economy', like in communist countries where production and prices are determined by the state - is still an economy, right?

    Too much semantics.

While the OP lacked detail clearly he is trying to say gold is more valuable than elixir.

When you are farming this is quite true. Trophy pushing however not so much.
