Our Hay Day chickens have a greater sense of preservation than I gave them credit for. I just went to pick up one that was “nesting” on a yellow spot, and when I tapped it to drive there, the chicken moved to the side of the road! I guess all those years of watching Tom dodge the speeding delivery truck taught the chickens the perils of crossing the road.

EDIT: I just tested it on another chicken who obligingly appeared after I went back to my farm to pick up goods for an order. I enlarged the screen to get the full effect and make sure I wasn’t imagining my genius chicken. Even better than I thought! When I tapped the chicken, it waved a wing, moved out of the road, and waved both wings before flying off to the poultry collection site...I hope it’s free range. There are an awful lot of chickens there.

i am curious about chickens that use to appear on our daily quest chain....nobody from my NH have had a chicken on the chain. Has anybody had one on their quest/chest chain?

3 times so far. The first time I found one fairly quickly. I also had a day when every house was a delivery. The next day when I needed to do a delivery for a quest there were ZERO.
I haven't seen a chicken for two days now.

You have had 3 on your chain where the treasure boxes are? We have been collecting chickens all over our Valley (82 collected so far) but none of the 5 of us from my NH have had a chicken on our quest chain (or treasure box chain ....whatever is the correct name for it). Just seems odd that none of us in my NH have had a chicken to collect for completing all of our daily quests. Just curious if anybody else has had them on the line with their treasure/tool boxes or if that was maybe a change that came with the update that I have not heard anyone mention. If it was a change then we will stop looking at the daily quest treasure box chain for chickens.

Hooray! Hopeful news, today! Chickens seem to be out on the roads and tucked into Valley buildings again!

My NH has done 2 chicken-occupied buildings together this morning, and gathered 2 more chickens crossing the road. I’m so proud of the people playing in our Valley! 135 chickens and counting! There is an unmoving group, but others have been playing and helping each other out. The smaller Valleys seem to have a positive effect on this. We can reach broken trucks and help in chicken houses without running out of fuel so quickly.

Does anyone know if we reach 200 chickens that we can pick 2 chicken exclusive prizes?

We are only at 50 chickens and might not even get one prize :/

Unless something has changed in the last update you can only get 1 chicken prize, because you can have a maximum of 6.000 tokens but 2 special prices would cost more than that. Since the special shop only opens when the valley is closed, you can't collect more tokens for a 2nd prize unfortunately. (At least that is how it has been up until the last update).

You’re right... Spinning fuel and collecting chickens early in the morning I forgot about the tokens limit + only being able to collect the exclusive prize after the Valley Season is over.
I enjoy catching chickens, even if the extra caught don’t result in prizes - the animation of the roadside chickens is a riot.
I hope your Valley’s chicken-catching rate increases enough so you can get the 100 chickens!
