This is awful! My larger farm requires more expansion ittems- I can't even transfer saws-axes or help with derby tasks within my neighborhood farm..how awful to punish your players! If it's not changed its definately a deal breaker for this diamond buying farmer

They're ignoring the feedback. We're whining and they're saving us from bots. Did you miss the memo?

Simply put, I am now looking for a different game to play. This limit is the last straw. I hate it.

P.S. I signed up to this site just so I could contribute to this topic.

Have I said how much I hate it yet?

I've sent messages through the game three or four times and got the typical canned answer on "how it works".

I too spend a couple of hundred a year on diamonds and little packs with decor. No more. I normally would have bought the decorations today... nope. I would have bought the scrolls but I didn't. I'll help them as much as they're helping us.
    This!

I too would have bougt the scrolls and the decor this week but have refused to do so. I depend $150 every other month between my farm and my daughters but from now on I will be playing less and less and only decorating or playing with diamonds I acquire in game. It might set me back for awhile unless they lift the limits and I can play my way. In the meantime, I get to spend more time in the real world. Not all bad, my house will be cleaner. I will decorate for the upcoming holidays and have beautifully wrapped gifts. Life is not all about HD after all. Don’t get me wrong, I love HD. But I don’t want to be forced to play according to someone else’s idea of how I should play. That being said, I totally respect HD’s right to protect their intellectual property. Hopefully, they will come up with a way to shut down the cheaters/bots without disenfranchising this “small” but dedicated group of players.

I don't love Hay Day and instead treat it more like a favorite TV show which I'll watch as long as it's entertaining. Moreover, I realize that no matter how much I enjoy it, it will be cancelled if not enough people share my taste and watch it. Just as Hay Day developers will kill their game when a specific internal metric is met, IMO.

It'll be a sad day for me, but some day the HD developers will bury their creation and take their talents to other Supercell games, some of which will survive the Crucible, reach global release, and join the portfolio of live games.

I absolutely hate this change. If the object is partly to generate more ems in the DD, then I guess that is working. I have certainly noticed more ems in the DD yesterday and today. Of course, I can't buy them because I use my 80 limit almost immediately.

We need to adjust the number a little. I think 150 or 200 would be okay for most players. It will reduce the amount I trade a lot, but it will still allow me to play the way I want to play, and still make it possible to upgrade my barn and silo. So I hope SC will consider increasing the number after they have analyzed the data. And before they lose half their players!

I respect this point of view and share it completely. I spend entirely too much time playing HD so it’ll be good for me to step away and just use up the thousands of diamonds I’ve got stored up.....and not accumulate a single new one for $$. What I don’t respect is being told how to play when the rules of the game clearly state we are welcome to buy whatever we can afford at our level with coins. I notice none of the terms of service have been changed to reflect internal limits on valid game advancement.

I also think the marketing rollout (not identifying this in the update text, not announcing before hand) was super shady and outraged many players unnecessarily because they found out about the limit by trying to BUY something.

even now, if you go to the games internal FAQ and look under ‘expansion items’ there is no mention of a limit or maximum number per day. That is just unacceptable. In fact - right now it seems to encourage people to keep shopping to find more.....
You can also buy them in the newspaper or from your neighbors and friends if they have some to spare. We advise to check regularly in the ads and in other farm's roadside shops to take advantage of any offer you might find!”

I am afraid many people I know who have played for years have already decided to bail. I’m sad for this.

Since you think I "deliberately missed" your point, would you please clarify your point of view so I may understand it?

Clear communication matters to me. Thank you.

I am reading these and I must be missing something. I am level 157 and I cannot even fathom ever hitting an 80 limit
on expansion tools bought from the paper. I am lucky if I find any expansion in the paper, most just comes from our team trades.
At least half of our team is over level 100 and we never trade more than 10 expansion at a time.

I don’t want to offend anyone, but how can you purchase more than 80 legitimately?

And actually doing this and limiting game time play is responsible. Many developers have moved toward more responsible game play after “game addiction “ has now become a real psychological problem. I think they are worried they will be sued if adding to addictive behavior or society issues.

I lead a casual playing team for this reason, and I encourage players to take time off.

I'm in favor of this, the number can be revised when needed. A cap with expansion item would greatly reduce abuse and help more players upgrade their storage for a better game experience. Much needed now with even more products to store and produce.
What or who is getting abused by buying expansion tools? Limiting that only hurts people who are dedicated to this game. Those people help other people like me, expand. I am glad you aren't affected by this change but everyone in my neighborhood is. I hope they change it.
