    Honestly, instead of making a new troop, they should just do this to the golem. A taunt ability and increased speed would make the golem viable as a tank again.

    Well, my King does last quite a while under fire and that's just a fraction of HP you're proposing.
    The shield can't get attacked by all def at once, only by the ones that actually can reach it. So a handfull of def at once, while all other troops inside it's field are completely protected as long the shield does last. No stray shot killing your bowler. No inferno AoEing into your Hogs. Heck, even Skellies could do tons of damage like that, since they can't get hit by AoE, unless they are standing right in front of a Wiztower, that doesn't quite reach the shield yet.

    So, not OP? Complete def-immunity for all troops in range? And you even want to increase it's HP to almost 4 times the HP of a lvl 65 BK?

    For the same reason they didn't make the giant like a golem, there are certain scenarios where a 5 space giant is best suited, where a 30 space golem is best suited and where a 50 space mega shield would be best suited. Supercell won't make the golem worth more than its 30 space. A new kind of tank needs to be added a th13 to maintain particular attack strategies, it doesn't matter what it is, this guy was just giving his version of the tank. I would like to see a really tanky siege machine imo because a super tank plus ww would be unstoppable. So if it's the siege that's a tank it will maintain attack strats but not be op because people can't use a ww with it.
