    Can a BH9 find a BH2 in battle?

So I have seen a lot of posts like "I am a BH6 and got destroyed by a BH8 in battle, how is that possible" and such. And because of this I thought about it a bit. Is there any limit on how many BH levels you are away from your opponent? We know that in the Main Base, there is such feature so that a TH6 trophypushing will never find a TH11 on its way. Is there anything similar to the Builder Base.

Yes. SC has stated there are safeties in place below 1500 trophies, although I’ve seen +1 after 1000 cups (the originally stated top end of the protection zone). However, I’d have to wonder how/what they might be. Case in point - what if someone started a fresh game and used $$$ to upgrade to BH9 without a single match...?

It’s important to remember, though - the BB is a game of trophies. The level of your BH, defenses, troops, etc is not relevant to the matchmaker. This is why forumers commonly recommend a more minimalist/rusher’s approach. There is no reason to stay low in the BH levels and every reason to advance rapidly. Those who try to max or move too slowly up the BH level tree will find themselves experiencing an unpleasant game because they are playing contrary to the game’s design.
